What is the focus of the role?

To work end-to-end on the analysis, design, development, deployment and support of Identity and Access Governance solution using new product SailPoint and application integrations with Telstra's internal applications for our internal Staff, Contractors and Partners as a member of a IGA team to uplift Telstra’s security posture in line with security standards and User Access Management and Governance best practices and compliance requirements.

As a Security Engineering – Senior Engineer, you draw on your deep (cyber) security expertise in multiple fields/verticals of engineering, network and technologies utilizing agile, lean, waterfall and/or DevOps ways of working to deliver against the following responsibilities:

  • Lead the integration, configuration, and implementation of IGA solutions.
  • Develop and enhance patterns of integrations with various target systems for rapid onboarding using out-of-the-box capabilities.
  • Guide other Identity engineers and lead in the development and integration of SailPoint solutions.
  • Analyze and advise on Identity requirements to ensure effective and appropriate solutions for internal customers during application onboarding.
  • Prepare detailed work instructions for production deployments of SailPoint integrations.
  • Maintain tracking and traceability between requirements, design, and test cases to demonstrate evidence of milestones.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Extensive hands-on experience with SailPoint IIQ and solutions in a large enterprise environment.
  • Proficiency in IIQ Workflows, forms, access rules, and connectors to support various integrations.
  • Advanced knowledge of MySQL DB, Oracle DB, Java, J2EE, Tomcat, Kubernetes, AWS, and Azure cloud technologies.
  • Experience with CI/CD DevOps pipelines, Active Directory, AzureAD, SCIM 2.0, Unix scripting, and SailPoint APIs.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Directory technologies and integration of applications with third-party Directory solutions.
  • Familiarity with other Identity Access Governance (IGA) capabilities such as Oracle Identity Manager, RSA Identity Governance and Lifecycle, and Entra ID.
  • Experience with policy servers, secure edge, and related technologies.
  • Knowledge of IAM Products like Ping and IBM Access Manager, and Zero Trust principles.
  • Experience with cloud and CI/CD tools and technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Bamboo, Jenkins, Nagios, and Git.
  • Proficiency in applying Agile practices to improve the quality and speed of delivery.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to break down problems into solvable parts and accurately identify underlying causes.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey messages effectively and adapt communication style to meet the needs of the audience.
  • Experience with software development and scripting, including Talend ETL tool, Bash scripts, and optional knowledge of Python and Splunk.
