The PROS Summer Internship Program is a 10-week paid internship designed to provide challenging, hands-on work experience. You will be assigned both individual and team projects that will make a direct impact on the company. This will further develop your ability to problem solve and communicate. In addition, interns will be provided ample learning opportunities, interaction with business leaders and engaging intern events. You will receive a mentor that provides frequent feedback on projects while helping you to build technical, analytical and leadership skills. We are looking for students who are self-driven and ready to take on stimulating projects.

A Day in the Life of the Security Engineer Intern - About the role:

The Security Engineer Intern is an integral member of the Security Technology Operation Excellence (STOE) team assisting in workflow automation and tool management. Expected tasks will include the following:

• Assist in the design, development, and implementation of workflow playbooks and automations.
• Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to identify and automate repetitive security tasks.
• Test and validate workflow playbooks to ensure they function as intended.
• Document automation processes and provide clear instructions for end-users.
• Monitor and analyze the performance of automated workflows and suggest improvements.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in security automation.

Required Qualifications - About you:

• Must be currently enrolled at a college/university with a concentration/background in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Capable of managing deadlines.
• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and use good judgement.
• Proven multi-team collaboration ability to drive various projects forward cross-functionally.
• The ability to work independently and develop a clear strategy to execute, followed by holding teams accountable.
• Be willing to learn, teach, lead and follow.
• Be creative, energetic, and determined to accomplish great things.

Highly Preferred Qualifications:

• You've proven your security skills expertise by having already completed an internship in Cybersecurity for other organizations. Experience working for companies that are in Technology is preferred.
• Experience with XSOAR (Cortex XSOAR) or other security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR) platforms
• Knowledge of REST APIs and integration techniques

Work Environment:

The 2025 Summer Internship program follows a hybrid schedule, Interns will be required to commute to our headquarters in Houston, Texas for a minimum of three days per week.  Interns will split their work between in-office and remote settings, with tasks requiring little to moderate physical exertion. The role may involve extended hours, tight deadlines, and high-pressure situations. To excel in this position, candidates must be able to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, understand business terminology, and interpret numerical data accurately.
