Who are we hiring: 
The Investigator is part of MSG’s Investigations & Security Operations team and is responsible for the detection, investigation and prevention of fraud, corruption and misconduct which may be violations of law, regulations, or internal policies.  The Investigator will react to alerts, allegations, suspicious activity, and intelligence to protect the Company from internal and external threats.  The Investigator will work with other teams within Threat Management & Security to conduct thorough investigations and to prepare reports and other deliverables to Executive Management, and coordinate with law enforcement as necessary.  The ideal candidate has proven investigative experience as a law enforcement official, consultant, corporate investigator, or combination of these areas.

What will you do?   

  • Lead investigations, under the direction of management, and work in close collaboration with other teams and departments within MSG.
  • Investigate internal/external fraud and corruption related activities to include, but not limited to: Embezzlement, check, and credit card frauds; identity thefts; bribery; procurement fraud; as well as construction related waste, fraud, and abuse.
  • Conduct victim, witness, and subject interviews; collect, review, and analyze documents, records, electronic communications, and other data; conduct research and background checks of individuals, corporations and other entities and identifiers.
  • Based upon investigative findings, research, and intelligence, provide recommendations, and assist in the implementation of policies and programs designed to reduce fraud within the company.
  • Work with local, state, and federal authorities on matters related to fraud, corruption and other illegal activities and coordinate investigations as appropriate.
  • Maintain knowledge of emerging threats, risks and issues related to fraudulent and corruption related schemes and activities.
  • Ability to conduct counter surveillance activities in the vicinity of the client site and lead efforts around covert protective measures.
  • Perform other general security duties as needed to support MSG Threat Management.

What do you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.
  • 5+ Years of investigative experience in corporate, law enforcement, or government capacity, involving fieldwork.
  • The ideal candidate will have protective services/executive protection experience.
  • Strong case management and time management skills. Able to manage several investigations simultaneously and autonomously, as well as to prioritize as necessary.
  • Strong reporting, organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Subject matter expertise in areas of fraud, corruption, and related offenses.
  • Strong and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in online and social media searches, use of e-discovery and other analytical tools, and case management systems. Experience in cyber forensics a plus.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel to review and analyze complex data.
  • LEOSA / HR-218 preferred

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to walk and stand during the entire shift.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, have split days off, work weekends and holidays in a 24 X 7 environment, as needed, in support of Madison Square Garden Company events and Executive Protection.
  • Ability to respond to the scene of security incidents in MSG venues and office environments.
  • Ability to assist with executive protection activities.
  • This position is located in an office environment, this is not a remote position.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time with little or no notice.

Pay Range$75,000—$120,000 USD
