Job Summary
Castalia Systems is looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team on the USPS Contract on Boundary Protection Services (BPS) Team. As a member of the USPS contract, you will be part of the team that supports approximately 5000 servers and 150,000 workstations. Our team is responsible for ensuring the Post Office’s information assets and technologies are protected from cybersecurity attacks. This contract is constantly growing in size and will provide opportunities to grow your skillset or obtain new ones via collaborative projects with other cybersecurity disciplines.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Apply expert knowledge of critical protocols, information assurance/ information security (IA/IS) architecture, embedded systems, network design processes, risk management, and network security architecture, including Defense-In-Depth principles, to design an organization’s IT architecture
- Provide expertise in systems lifecycle to the systems security design process.
- Provide expertise for security protection needs (e.g., security controls) of information systems and networks.
- Operational:
- Ensure internal and external data security, adhering to best practices and compliance standards.
- Implement observability across platforms for application monitoring and alerting.
- Deploy threat detection and mitigation techniques to ensure data/application security.
- Work with auditors to ensure security compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Functional comprehension of web application architecture.
- Understanding of PCI Security requirements.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A combination of relevant work experience and education that would equal 1-3 years of relevant work experience with a record of accomplishment.
Desired/Preferred qualifications
- CompTIA Security +
- CPTE - Certified Penetration Testing Engineer
- CEH - Certified Ethical Hacker
- CISA - Certified Information Systems Auditor
Education
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree; or 5 years experience Required with a related PhD or JD.
