The role 

Ekco are looking for an experienced AWS Senior Cloud Security Architect with in-depth expertise of Information Security, Cyber Security, Information Technology, and large enterprise environments. This role will work directly with Enterprise Clients to advise, assess, and deliver complex assessments and projects related to Data Security and Enterprise Cyber Security

Key Responsibilities 

• Translate security and technical requirements into business needs, communicating risks to stakeholders
• Help customers deliver secure enterprise cloud security and architecture design and transformation projects from planning to deployment
• Implement and integrate cloud security designs, focusing on AWS Cloud Security Architecture
• Document implementations thoroughly with HLIA, HLD, LLD, and run-books
• Serve as a cloud and security expert, promoting and training on cloud solutions
• Contribute to the organisation’s cloud security policies and standards
• Keep up to date with emerging security threats and controls

Key Requirements 

• University degree (Bachelor's or Master's level) in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional work experience.
• Over 7 years of experience as a Cloud Architect, Cloud SecOps Engineer, Cloud DevOps Engineer, or in similar roles.
• Comprehensive understanding of cloud security technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Zero Trust concepts.
• Extensive experience in cloud security architecture and management, as well as knowledge of security best practices – preferably with AWS or Azure.
• Cloud architect certifications at Professional/Expert Level, such as AWS Cloud Solutions Architect, AWS Cloud Security Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect (AZ-305), and Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect (SC-100).
• Strong knowledge of cloud security frameworks, such as CIS, NIST, CSA, and the application of controls and guardrails specific to cloud environments.
• Familiarity with industry and government compliance standards, such as NIS2, DORA, SOC 2, HIPAA and GDPR.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
• Possession or progress towards cybersecurity qualifications such as CCSP, CISSP, and CISM.
• Professional accreditation from bodies like ISC2, ISACA, CiiSec, and BCS.

Beneficial Requirements

• Broad knowledge of information security, risk management, and corporate governance.
• Experience in using the SABSA model security framework for design purposes.
• Proficient in CASB, CSPM, IAM, SIEM, MDR, XDR and other related fields.
• Additional certifications at the Microsoft Associate level (e.g. AZ-104, AZ-500, SC-200, SC-300).
• Additional AWS Cloud Security or Engineer-level certifications.
• Experience with AWS's Management and Governance, Identity and Security services.
• Relevant cyber security certifications such as GSEC or CASP+ are also beneficial.
• Experience with other public cloud service providers, including Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools (e.g. Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation).

Please note this role will require some travel to Dublin monthly.
