SOC Analyst Co-Op

 

Compensation: $22.00 Hourly

Duration: 15 weeks (May 15 - August 22)

Location: You will have the flexibility to work fully remote from anywhere across the United States.


Insight is a leading Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) specializing in cybersecurity solutions for a diverse range of clients. We are excited to welcome a talented and enthusiastic college student as a Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst Co-op to join our team and gain hands-on experience in the dynamic field of cybersecurity.

 

Now is the time to bring your expertise to a SOC Analyst Co-Op role for a Fortune 500 Solutions Integrator where success and fulfillment go hand in hand. You will be at the forefront of helping businesses transform their cloud, data, AI, cybersecurity, and analytics to ensure they are future-ready.

 

As a SOC Analyst Co-op with Insight, you will assist in monitoring and analyzing security alerts and incidents using Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR), and Extended Detection and Response (XDR) tools. We will count on you to support the SOC team in investigating and responding to security events, including triage, escalation, and remediation activities. ]. Along the way, you will learn to identify and analyze indicators of compromise (IOCs) and potential security threats to enhance threat detection capabilities.

As a SOC Analyst Co-Op you will get to:

  • Collaborate with experienced SOC analysts to participate in incident response activities and coordinate with cross-functional teams for effective resolution. 
  • Gain exposure to threat hunting techniques and proactive security measures to identify and mitigate emerging cyber threats. 
  • Assist in maintaining and updating security documentation, procedures, and playbooks to support SOC operational efficiency. 
  • Participate in security tool deployment, configuration, and tuning under the guidance of senior team members to optimize threat detection and response capabilities.

We are looking for a SOC Analyst Co-Op with:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, or related field. 
  • Junior or Senior standing with a strong academic record in cybersecurity coursework. 
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and tools, with a willingness to learn and develop practical skills in a SOC environment. 
  • Familiarity with SIEM, SOAR, and XDR tools is a plus, but not required.
