Mid Level Telecommunications Engineer

Job Description

NetImpact Strategies, Inc. is seeking to hire a Telecommunications Engineer to support a Federal Agency.

This role is located 100% onsite in Oak Harbor Naval Clinic, Oak Harbor Washington.

Candidates must be able to pass a background investigation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, test, upgrade, and integrate telecommunication networks, systems, and equipment based on business requirements.
• Plan, implement, and document security measures, configurations, testing, and deployments for telecommunications systems.
• Evaluate, recommend, and implement emerging telecommunications technologies and system upgrades.
• Troubleshoot complex issues, coordinate with vendors, and provide operational support for lab and production environments.
• Manage call queues, call center telephony operations, and develop/maintain call routing scripts.
• Configure, maintain, and update Avaya Application Server (Red Hat Linux OS) and VOIP systems, including IX Messaging, ACD, and Vocera.
• Perform site surveys, document communication infrastructure requirements, and manage voicemail and device configurations.
• Utilize ticketing systems for issue tracking, resolution, and reporting on assigned phone numbers and device statuses.
• Maintain detailed inventory reports, track asset distribution, and manage compliance with IT security policies.
• Provide emergency situation updates, after-action reports, and track key performance metrics.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications and Certifications:

• Experience: Four (4) years of progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree and or equivalency.
• IAT II certification as per DoD 8570.01-M requirements (CCNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP, CySA+ **).
• CE: Associate (professional preferred) level certificate.

Preferred Qualifications and Certifications:

• Professional-level CE certification.
• Experience supporting telecommunications in federal or healthcare environments.
• Previous Federal Consulting Experience.
