Job Summary:The VP, International Business Information Security Officer (BISO) at Nielsen is responsible for overseeing and continuously improving the security engagement for cybersecurity and product security for all of Nielsen’s non-US operations. This executive-level position plays a crucial role in protecting Nielsen's assets, products, data, employees, and reputation while enabling business growth and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:

Cybersecurity:

  • Lead the implementation and management of cybersecurity technologies, policies, and procedures across Nielsen’s international presence.
  • Support the Fusion Operations team for incident response and management for cybersecurity events when required in areas of responsibility.
  • Partner with Security Performance Management to ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise IT teams to integrate security measures into systems and applications.
  • Provide support to all Nielsen functions based in the India, Poland, and Mexico GCCs locations to delivery high quality security engagement.

Product Security:

  • Partner with the Head of Product Security to oversee the engagement with Nielsen products and client-facing environments delivered to markets outside the US.
  • Support the Product Security team in verifying the implementation of secure development practices in the product lifecycle.
  • Ensure the security of cloud environments and infrastructure.
  • Evaluate security measures for first-party and third-party data sets.
  • Review regular security assessments of Nielsen products and services.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to address security concerns and implement improvements.
  • Drive engagement with vulnerability management programs for Nielsen products and services.

Physical Security:

  • Support the People Safety and Security team across non-US markets as needed.
  • Verify the existence of emergency response and business continuity plans.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement and security agencies as directed.
  • Ensure the protection of Nielsen's physical assets and intellectual property.

Leadership and Strategy:

  • Provide regular updates to CISO, CIO, and other functional leaders on security matters.
  • Mentor the GCC-based security team, fostering a culture of security awareness.
  • Collaborate with legal, HR, and other departments to address security-related issues.
  • Stay informed about emerging threats and industry trends to proactively enhance security measures.

Communication and Awareness:

  • Partner with Security Performance Management to develop and implement security awareness programs.
  • Represent the CISO when needed on security-related matters.
  • Foster a security-conscious culture throughout the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 2 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
  • Proven track record of implementing successful security programs in large, complex organizations.
  • Experience with risk management, compliance, and governance frameworks.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to align security initiatives with business objectives.
  • Deep understanding of cloud security, data protection, and secure software development practices
