ABOUT THIS ROLE
LVT's Information Security team is looking for a Senior Staff Security Engineer with a passion for security and can find innovative solutions to maintain security and own key operational processes. This role will allow you to broaden your skills and experience in multiple areas using cutting-edge technologies. You will be joining a team of talented engineers who are passionate about working together to find creative solutions and who share a commitment to excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for security, and the ability to find innovative solutions, take ownership of projects, and ensure thorough implementation. A core requirement of this position is the ability to understand, manage, and articulate security risks and mitigations in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Security Monitoring
- Develop and enhance security monitoring solutions to improve detection coverage and accuracy
- Embrace automation / AI technologies to accelerate monitoring operations
- Improve our logging ingestion and optimization strategy to refine log data for alerting
- Correlate events and write high-value rules
- Develop and refine alerting rules to minimize false positives and improve signal-to-noise ratio
- Create IR runbooks and develop alerting capabilities to streamline response processes
- Improve threat detection coverage and accuracy
- Conduct incident response, including investigation, containment, and recovery
- Work cross-functionally with other business units to communicate and resolve incidents
- Develop employee and customer incident communications
Cloud Security:
- Work with engineers on AWS security best practices and advocate security through all phases of cloud operations and configuration management
- Embed directly within our infrastructure team as a cloud security expert
- Lead strategic security initiatives that improve the defensive posture of AWS and other cloud services and applications
QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of experience in information security
- Knowledge of scripting languages and basic coding ability
- Work collaboratively and cross-functionally
- Drive projects through identification, design, development, deployment, and management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to cater the message to the needs of the audience.
- Train and mentor more junior staff members
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science/information systems or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of various risk and compliance frameworks is a plus
- Certifications such as CISSP, GPEN, GWAPT, CEH, OSCP, GXPN, etc. are helpful
