Chief Information Security Officer

We are seeking a Chief Information Security Officer to join our Group Digital Excellence at Vaisala. You can work from any Vaisala location, including Finland, the UK, Australia, Germany, France, the US, Canada, China, Japan, Malaysia, or India.

What's your role?

At Vaisala, security is embedded in everything we do, from product security to operations, infrastructure, applications, network, privacy, and compliance. In this role, you will report to the Chief Digital and Information Officer and take responsibility for the organization’s overall security strategy, including the Information Security Management System (ISMS). You will play a key role in driving security initiatives and collaborating with business leaders to ensure alignment across all business areas. Your ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization will be crucial in creating a security-conscious culture and implementing effective security measures. You will:

• Develop and execute information security strategy
• Take a group-wide risk-based approach to support Vaisala Strategy
• Turn complex data and security considerations into actionable tasks
• Foster a security-aware culture
• Ensure protection of Vaisala’s assets with state-of-the-art technologies and appropriate security testing
• Ensure Vaisala has meaningful, measurable security objectives and related KPIs supporting business ambitions and compliance
• Act as an influencer to other units for security decision-making within different processes
• Build relationships with other security experts within Vaisala (business areas, compliance, legal, IT, etc.)
• Build strong partnerships with stakeholders, secure necessary approvals, and drive resourcing

What will you bring?

• Strong experience in cyber/information security, with at least a few years in security leadership role.
• Extensive security expertise from at least some of the following domains: product development, operations, legal/compliance, privacy, IT infrastructure.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire, influence, and drive change.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with C-level executives and key stakeholders in IT infrastructure and application services.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information.
• In-depth knowledge of information security standards and frameworks.
