Security Specialist

We are looking for a dedicated Security Specialist to join our dynamic Digital organisation as we embark on our transformation journey towards building modern capabilities and becoming a service-oriented entity. This role will support service owners in securing their technology solutions, with a focus on architecture, solution design, control design, engineering, and consulting. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Collaborate with Service owners to ensure service architecture has appropriate security considerations and design principles that align with industry best practices and organisational goals.
- Ensure new and existing Digital solutions meet security requirements and standards.
- Design secure IT solutions that address business needs while mitigating security risks.
- Develop, implement, and maintain security controls and policies to protect information assets.
- Conduct security assessments and threat modelling for Digital projects and services.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle.
- Provide security consulting services to project teams and other departments.
- Support service owners in understanding and addressing the security implications of new technologies and business initiatives.
- Assist service owners in developing and implementing security strategies for their services.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to continuously improve the Secure by Design framework.
- Create and maintain codified security standards and practices.
- Collaborate on regular risk assessments and audits to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities.
About you:
You will be collaborative, focussed on team success and passionate about contributing to great outcomes for customers. In addition to this you will also have:
- Proven experience in IT security architecture, solution design, and engineering.
- Experience working in highly scalable Cloud and DevSecOps environments, and are versed in modern cybersecurity practices and methodologies
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
- Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent
