We’re looking for an Identity Governance and Operations Service Lead to bring fresh perspectives and bold solutions to our team. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in shaping how our organization provides secure, appropriate, and timely access to enterprise resources and as well as be a catalyst to drive our Identity and Access Management strategy.
What You'll Be Doing:
The Identity Governance and Operations Service Lead will be instrumental in shaping and executing the strategic vision for the company's global identity provisioning and access management initiatives as well ensuring operational excellence across the Lilly Identity and Access Management portfolio of services. Part of this critical role entails developing comprehensive technology roadmaps, prioritizing impactful enhancements, driving continuous service innovations, effectively engaging with key stakeholders, and optimizing the identity governance and access management technology landscape. Additionally, this role has responsibility to drive to operational excellence across all identity services with a disciplined approach to service delivery and collaborative customer support. The goal is to evolve current approaches to drive efficiency through extending automation capabilities, building up insights to support proactive service health management, and maintain security for critical resources for the Lilly environment.
Team Leadership & Management:
Lead and mentor a high-performing team of identity engineers and support team.
Provide coaching, career development, performance management, and professional growth opportunities.
Foster a culture focused on innovation, automation, continuous learning, and operational discipline.
Cultivate a global team culture, ensuring alignment across geographies to operate as one global team.
Identify critical skill gaps and develop strategies to attract, retain, and upskill top talent.
Cultivate a diverse and inclusive team fostering different perspectives and backgrounds.
Operational Excellence:
Drive the strategic vision for incident management, change management, and problem resolution processes, ensuring these are seamlessly integrated into the overall identity services strategy.
Lead and coordinate high-impact Incident Action Teams (IAT) to address critical identity service disruptions, with a focus on minimizing business impact and enhancing future resilience.
Establish and monitor comprehensive service metrics to gauge the performance and success of identity services, aligning these metrics with broader business goals.
Oversee platform and technology management, emphasizing strategic vulnerability management, lifecycle management, and effective vendor partnerships.
Identify and implement opportunities for significant operational enhancements through strategic adoption of new technologies, automation and process improvements.
Champion the integration of automation, advanced tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies to drive operational excellence and innovation.
Ensure all identity-related security incidents are managed in alignment with strategic security principles and technology standards, leveraging incident insights for continuous strategic improvement.
Technology Strategy & Roadmap:
Formulate and uphold a unified, global strategy for identity governance and access management that aligns with organizational goals, risk management frameworks, and advancing technological landscapes.
Assess and integrate cutting-edge technologies and strategic vendor partnerships to meet dynamic business and security demands.
Articulate the long-term strategic vision for identity governance and access management services.
Design resilient identity governance and access management services that anticipate and mitigate emerging threats, applying industry-leading practices and intelligence insights.
Stakeholder Engagement
Engage with security leadership, architecture, cyber defense, IT, and business stakeholders to understand priorities and ensure alignment.
Evangelize the Identity governance and access management strategy across the enterprise and collaborate with cyber defense operations on threat detection strategies.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure Identity governance and access management services enable compliance with regulatory and industry requirements.
Define appropriate Identity governance and access management services controls to mitigate risks identified through security architecture reviews and risk assessments.
Provide oversight and guidance during security audits related to Identity governance and access management services domains.
Ensure services enable compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., PCI-DSS, HIPAA, GDPR) and industry standards.
Your Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
10+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management with deep expertise in areas like identity provisioning, access management, identity governance, and administration including SailPoint and EntraID Connect.
8+ years of experience in leading an Enterprise IT services operational support organization.
5+ years of proven leadership experience in Identity and Access Management.
5+ years of experience in technology strategy and roadmap planning in an enterprise environment.
5+ years demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing team members.
Additional Preferences:
Strong business acumen combined with technical depth to influence and drive outcomes.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
Knowledge of IT operations, system administration, and identity and access management processes.
Experience with compliance frameworks like PCI-DSS, HIPAA, NIST 800-171, etc.
Relevant certifications like CISSP, CISM, GCIA, GCIH preferred.
Experience managing both operational and capital expenditure budgets.
Additional Information:
Remote with travel to Indianapolis -10-25%.
Local candidates will be required to work a hybrid model at the Lilly Corporate Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.
