We are currently recruiting for a Security Operations Senior Manager, reporting to the Head of Security Operations Centre, to lead the security operations globally in Tunstall, ensuring the required capability and competencies are in place for all Tunstall entities globally.

This is an incredibly exciting time to join Tunstall as we embark on an exciting period of transformation. You will be joining a recently created and growing global Information Security team within Tunstall and play a key part in the success of this transformation.

This role would be based at our Madrid office working on a hybrid basis. We are flexible on number of days in the office, and on location and would consider applications from people who can work at one of our other European offices (Malmo, Sweden or Manchester, UK).

What will you be doing in this role?

As our Security Operations Senior Manager, you will be in a leadership role, helping to build a highly engaged and trained team with the required capabilities and competencies. You will develop and maintain a comprehensive programme to monitor all Tunstall’s networks and systems and detect cyber threats, ensuring we keep abreast of new cyber threats, improve our detection capabilities, and make sure our networks and systems are always covered by the running service.

Ensuring we have the right incident management plans in place, and ensuring our cyber threat intelligence service monitors the right assets is vital to the success of this role.


The Ideal candidate:

To be successful in this role you will have significant experience working in cybersecurity, with proven experience in a senior role within a security operations centre (SOC), working with managed service providers as a customer.

A deep understanding of the cybersecurity market, trends, vendors, and security solutions required to build a modern SOC is vital to the success of this role.

The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, be proactive in their approach, with demonstrable experience of leading, motivating and coaching a high performing team.

Some of your key tasks will be…

  • Build a highly engaged and trained team with the required capabilities and competencies to achieve the stated mission. It is expected that specialised managed services providers will deliver core services, like security monitoring and detection, cyber threat intelligence, incident response and computer forensics, following a strategy of building a fast 24x7 capability with global reach,
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive programme to monitor all Tunstall networks and systems and detect cyber threats, ensuring we keep abreast of new cyber threats, improve our detection capabilities, and our networks and systems are always covered by the running service,
  • Ensure we have the right incident management plans in place, duly documented and tested,
  • Ensure our cyber threat intelligence service monitors the right assets, engaging with business units and technology teams to capture relevant data for the continuous refinement of the service,
  • Coordinate and supervise the day-to-day activities of the team and service providers to ensure that the outcome and achievements are aligned with the overall information security strategy and the business objectives,
  • Engage and align priorities with IT teams in the countries and at Group level to implement our security operations,
  • Be the escalation point for the incident managers, at management level, for relevant security incidents,
  • Manage the operational activities of the security operations team, aligning those with the global Information Security budget and plans,
  • In coordination with Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) team, define goals, priorities, KPIs, metrics and dashboards to monitor and supervise the security services delivered as well as security-relevant events,
  • Report on the security operations, their performance and security-relevant events, e.g. security incidents,
  • Define, monitor and oversee the service model, service level agreements and service portfolio for the security operations, covering also the outsourced services,
  • Ensure that the activities conducted comply with regulatory requirements and industry best practices,
  • Keep a constant innovative, challenging and constructive attitude towards continuous improvement.


Key skills and experience:

  • Significant experience of working in cybersecurity with proven experience in senior roles in a SOC,
  • Demonstrable experience of working with managed service providers as a customer,
  • Deep understanding of the cybersecurity market, trends, vendors and security solutions to build a modern SOC.
  • Previous experience in management positions in complex, multinational organisations,
  • Ability to coach, lead, and motivate a high performing team,
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
  • Strong technical background and ability to work at high level whilst paying attention to the details,
  • Ability to manage complexity and make decisions with limited information or under uncertainty,
  • Be results orientated with an analytical mind set,
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics or similar, or have equivalent experience,
  • You must be able to communicate effectively in English (ie CEFR C1).

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Spanish or Swedish language skills
