Overview:

Job Title: Cloud & Policy SME

Location: Remote/Hybrid

Job Responsibilities:

Trace Systems is seeking an experienced, cleared Cloud Engineer to provide design, engineering, and operational support to multiple cloud based environments in support of ELITE AFRICOM Hybrid based in Vienna, VA or Tampa, FL. 

Duties and responsibilities to include, but not limited to: 

• Define strategies and governance processes for DevSecOps adoption within COCOM. 

• Provide expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation) to support secure cloud automation.
• Align DevSecOps principles with DoD enterprise security policies and software development lifecycle requirements.
• Contribute to the CNCF Kubernetes Reference Design, ensuring compatibility with DoD software factory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance.
• Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship is required.
• Five (5) years of recent specialized experience
• Expertise in DevSecOps methodologies, software pipelines, and DoD security frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD).
• Experience with DoD cloud accreditation processes (ATO, cATO, DISA Provisional ATO).
• Certifications such as Kubernetes Certified Administrator (CKA), AWS DevOps Engineer, or DoD DevSecOps Practitioner preferred.
• DoD 8570 IAT-II certification

Desired Qualifications:

• Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator OR Microsoft Certified Azure Developer
• DoD 8570 IAT-III certification (CISSP, CASP+, CISM)

Education:

• Bachelors degree + 5 years of specialized experience, OR Associates degree + 7 years specialized experience, OR Required cert + 9 years specialized experience in lieu of degree, OR 11 total years of specialized experience in lieu of a degree.
