Job Description:

Role Overview: 

We are seeking a highly experienced Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Cyber Data Analytics to lead and scale our cybersecurity analytics capabilities. This role will be responsible for managing a team of over 100 professionals, developing advanced threat detection content, and driving orchestration and automation initiatives to enhance our cybersecurity posture. The ideal candidate has a deep background in cybersecurity, analytics, and large-scale data management, with a proven track record of navigating large-scale security incidents and ensuring data quality assurance. 

 

This role can be based in Dallas TX, Middletown NJ, Alpharetta GA, Charlotte NC or Bothell WA requiring in-office presence 5 days/week. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Leadership & Strategy: 

  • Lead and oversee a large cyber data analytics organization, ensuring alignment with enterprise cybersecurity goals. 
  • Develop and execute strategies for leveraging large-scale data analytics to enhance threat detection and response. 
  • Drive innovation in cyber analytics, ensuring continuous improvement of detection methodologies and automation frameworks. 

Threat Detection & Content Development: 

  • Design and implement advanced detection logic to improve threat identification across a diverse and evolving attack landscape. 
  • Oversee the development of cybersecurity content, including detection rules, correlation logic, and behavioral analytics models. 
  • Work closely with threat intelligence teams to refine detection capabilities based on emerging threats. 

Data Analytics & Quality Assurance: 

  • Manage and analyze massive datasets for threat detection and cybersecurity insights across a global enterprise. 
  • Establish and maintain robust data quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy, integrity, and effectiveness of analytics. 
  • Optimize the use of machine learning and AI-driven analytics to enhance cyber threat detection and response capabilities. 

Incident Response & Large-Scale Event Management: 

  • Provide leadership and expertise in navigating and mitigating large-scale security incidents. 
  • Collaborate with SOC, threat intelligence, and incident response teams to ensure rapid detection and response to cyber threats. 
  • Develop and enhance playbooks for large-scale incident management, integrating analytics-driven response actions. 

Orchestration & Automation: 

  • Lead the development and implementation of automated detection and response capabilities using orchestration tools. 
  • Work closely with security engineering and SOC teams to integrate analytics into automated security workflows. 
  • Drive innovation in security automation to enhance the speed and accuracy of threat detection and response. 

 

Qualifications:  

 

Required: 

  • 15+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong focus on analytics, incident response, and threat detection. 
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams of 50+ people in a cybersecurity analytics function within a large enterprise. 
  • Extensive experience handling large-scale cybersecurity data sets and applying analytics for threat detection. 
  • Deep expertise in cybersecurity content development, detection logic, and behavioral analytics. 
  • Strong background in security orchestration and automation (SOAR) and integrating analytics into security workflows. 
  • Experience leading large-scale incident response efforts, including navigating complex cyber events. 
  • Demonstrated success in establishing and maintaining data quality assurance processes for cybersecurity analytics. 
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, SIEM platforms, and big data technologies used in cybersecurity. 
  • Current or previous TS/SCI clearance 

 

Preferred: 

  • Experience working in a Fortune 500 or highly regulated environment (e.g., financial services, healthcare, or government). 
  • Familiarity with machine learning and AI-driven cybersecurity analytics. 
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GCIH, GCFA, or relevant data analytics certifications.
