Senior Security Threat Hunter - Salary £60,000 - £70,000 DOE.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen with the Cyber Incident Team for a Senior Security Threat Hunter to join the team. If you feel you have the experience and skills required then we would love to hear from you.

A bit about the job:

  • Drive the development of threat hunts to detect and respond to malicious behaviours and anomalous activity across a diverse set of infrastructures/platforms utilising leading security platforms and tools utilising your own research and input from other teams within Aviva.

  • Lead incident response activities escalated to Tier 3 and engage with security teams and business stakeholders to mitigate risk and ensure that Aviva's customers are appropriately protected, operating as part of a 24/7 out of hours on call rota.

  • Liaising and working with third party suppliers to make sure the service they offer meets and maintains our high quality and standards, offering your guidance and understand the impact to Aviva if a cyber incident occurs within their estates.  

  • Supporting the wider business with your experience and expertise along with representing the threat hunting team on internal projects when required.

  • Creation and maintenance of detailed process documentation and work instructions along with providing support and guidance for other members of the team.

Aviva operates a “smart working” policy meaning that we spend approximately half of our time working in an office this role is based in Bristol.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrable experience in triaging incidents and leading through incident response lifecycle.

  • Have led and conducted threat hunts.

  • Experience of creating custom detections or correlations rules in SIEM platforms and EDR tools.

  • Ability to query logs and manipulate data in a variety of formats across different platforms.

  • Experience of malware/file analysis.

  • Salary between £60,000-£70,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
