ETIC, Manager - Business Continuity & Resilience
About PwC ETIC - Egypt Technology and Innovation Centre:
PwC ETIC (Egypt Technology & Innovation Center) in Cairo is delivering high quality technology solutions to consulting clients across the globe. The centre provides a broad suite of skills and services to our clients, ranging from packaged applications such as SAP & Oracle, to Cyber Security, Data Analytics, Custom Development and Cloud Services utilizing AWS, Azure and Google, as well as expanding our existing Managed Services capabilities.
The centre is looking to expand rapidly and we are looking for enthusiastic self-starters with a passion for technology and client delivery to help shape and form this new venture. Business continuity is one of the most important risks facing businesses today. Systems and processes are becoming increasingly interconnected and automated and many organizations are now reliant upon other systems and processes to drive business strategy and growth. Our clients are turning to PwC for help and guidance on how to drive business resilience, minimise impact on business disruption and improve business and operationalcontinuity.
The opportunity
At PwC we have ambitious plans to expand our already market leading Resilience practice. With investment
secured, we continue to build our ME based Resilience practice and anticipate continued growth throughout the
next five years. We need excellent people, across manager grade, to join us and to be part of our exciting growth
strategy.
Your key responsibilities
As a Manager in our ME Resilience practice, you will be working within Resilience, Business Continuity, Crisis
Management and IT Disaster Recovery and will have exposure to cyber resilience and work in teams to deliver
resilience implementations or remediation programmes.
You will have responsibility for:
Project Delivery
Assist enterprises in Resilience Risk assessments to manage risk efficiently and effectively in conjunction with strategic objectives.
Assist enterprises in developing, implementing, maintaining and testing Resilience frameworks and plans covering business continuity, crisis management, incident response, and IT disaster recovery.
Experienced in compliance and auditing the regulatory requirements, also Industry Standards such as ISO 22301, DRII, BCI, NIST, etc.
You’ll act as a trusted advisor for enterprises throughout their resilience program lifecycle.
Collaborate with the PwC Resilience Leadership to develop Resilience practice in Qatar and if required across ME
Assist enterprises to execute business resiliency risk oversight agenda as part of the risk transformation objectives, across governance, enterprise policy, standards, procedures, testing, and metrics & reporting.
Assist clients in developing/reviewing recovery plans and testing documentation to ensure compliance with applicable policies and standards.
Assist enterprises in developing incident response activities and preparedness
Engage in the “challenger” role to evaluate existing resilience strategies, identify existing process and procedural gaps, and recommend areas for improvement
Pre-sales SupportGenerate new business opportunities by participating and conducting the market facing activities, executive briefings, industry roadshows, and seminars
Support PwC Resilience executives in achieving Resilience sales targets.
Participate in RFPs / tender response.
Develop high quality technical and commercial proposals along with the proposal development team
StrategicIdentify opportunities to innovate and expand Resilience services, providing detailed recommendations for service enhancements, introduce new services, and solution as appropriate
Manage partner alliances, if required
Strong collaboration with PwC senior executives, key stakeholders and other PwC Resilience Managers to co-establish, promote and drive a Resilience practice ecosystem
Skills and attributes for success
Experience in resilience and business continuity is essential for this role. A Big 4 background or comparable
consulting experience is helpful, although PwC will provide ongoing training and support to develop your
consulting skills. We therefore welcome applicants with industry experience and skills delivering transformation
workstreams, or security remediation work.
A broad background across resilience/business continuity and experience in 1 or more of the following areas would
be beneficial;
Candidate should have previous experience in resilience / business continuity/ crisis management/ incident response/ IT disaster recovery etc.
Preferably, the candidate should have worked with resilience consulting firms earlier
Expert understanding of resilience requirements at enterprise level
Excellent teamwork capability, passion and drive the Resilience opportunities
Managerial capabilities and experience to motivate a diverse group of individuals, strong interpersonal skills to foster a team environment, and the ability to create and implement action plans
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Expert understanding of enterprise threats, vulnerabilities, and resilience countermeasures
Experienced in performing business impact analysis for large enterprises at an organizational level covering the supply chain, operations, IT etc.
Manage customer relationships through resolving problems and following up on the status of projects
Awareness and knowledge of Supply chain resilience, Operations resilience, Business continuity management, IT Disaster Recovery and Crisis Management
Bachelor’s degree in related discipline and 5+ years of experience in a related field
At least 6 years of relevant experience in other technical and business domains mentioned in above sections is required Must have developed enterprise-wide business resiliency frameworks
Ability to think both at strategic and tactical level
Demonstrated experience leveraging standard Project management methodology (i.e. develop project schedule, task list, resource requirements and ongoing issue management, etc.)
Skilled in work plan development and implementation; astute in strategic planning, budgeting, and allocation.
Understand industry trends and best practices by engaging with the industry and broader ecosystem to understand industry trends and best practices.
Knowledge of current and emerging resilience/ continuity standards and regulations requirements
Ability to explain business principles of secure system designs in terms of business risk
Practical experience of customer service processes and solving issues
Qualifications
Resilience related qualifications such as DRII, BCI, ISO22301 lead implementer or auditor, MBCI
COBIT, NIST and ITIL (desirable)
