Role Summary:Reporting to the Corporate Information Security Manager, this position is responsible for maintaining and monitoring the security of the company’s network, data, and computer systems and confirming compliance with applicable Magnet security policies.   
This role will help research methods to manage regulatory compliance where required, as well as coordinate and performs activities related to compliance audits and responses.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Monitor security systems and alerts
  • Participate in Security team collaboration
  • Lead system and end-user security incident management response and containment
  • Participate in evaluating, implementing, day-to-day operations of security solutions
  • Create and update dashboard of security systems to provide relevant information
  • Follow ITIL best practices change/incident/reviews
  • Document security systems, security procedures, and processes
  • Research emerging security threats including applicable regulatory security requirements
  • Follow Magnet's information security program reporting all breaches in information security
  • Contribute to any activities pertaining to internal or external audits, artifact collection, etc.
  • Respond to internal ticket escalations, supporting the end users as they provide top-tier customer service
  • Collaborate with IT, HR, Engineering, Business Systems and other departments to ensure the proper security measures are adhered to
  • Evaluate vendors and products for appropriate security requirements
  • Communicate company security policies and procedure to end-users and other stakeholders
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of previous Security Operations Centre experience and experience in conducting security investigations
  • Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in a relevant area of study with a preference for Information Security, Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • Strong knowledge of Security Incident Management, Vulnerability and Penetration Processes
  • Solid understanding of IT, including multiple operating systems and system administration skills (Windows, MacOS, Linux, Mobile)
  • Strong understanding of Networking Principles and common Internet Protocols
  • Understanding of SaaS / Web applications, Databases, Firewalls, VPN, EDR, MDM Technologies 

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Information Security professional designations such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, Security+
  • Experience running projects and managing technical deployments
  • Experience within a customer centric support role
  • Experience running a corporate Physical Security program
  • Experience with various Identity or Privileged access programs
  • Knowledge and experience with industry frameworks such as NIST
  • Experience with Offensive Security practices
  • Experience operating within a software development environment

Compensation & Benefits

  • The Compensation Range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. Please note that the actual compensation may vary depending on location and job-related factors such as qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills. If you are applying for this role outside of the primary location and you are selected for an interview, the Talent Acquisition Partner can share more information with you. If the compensation structure for the role includes an incentive component (i.e. most Sales roles) the range below represents total target compensation (TTC) (base salary + variable).

  • Compensation Range:
  • MIN: $87,200 - MID: $109,000 - MAX: $130,800 Currency: CAD
