Job Purpose *

This position is essential for driving advanced containerization and CI/CD solutions within the organization, focused on three main areas:

  • Technical Mastery and Optimization: Oversee the management and enhancement of Kubernetes and Docker environments to support critical applications, ensuring scalability, security, and performance are maintained at the highest standards. This includes regular updates, upgrades, and patching of Kubernetes to uphold system integrity and security.
  • Strategic Implementation: Utilize in-depth knowledge of containerization technologies to implement cutting-edge solutions that enhance system functionality and improve deployment processes, directly impacting the efficiency and effectiveness of the platform.
  • Collaboration and Technical Guidance: Collaborate with other DevSecOps Engineers and IT teams to ensure that containerization strategies are aligned with the organization’s technology roadmap and business goals, facilitating seamless integration across platforms and improving system resilience.
Key Responsibilities *

Key Responsibilities:

  • Kubernetes and Docker Management: Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and strategic enhancement of Kubernetes and Docker platforms, focusing on optimizing performance and security to meet enterprise demands.
  • Advanced CI/CD Pipeline Development: Design and refine complex CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, and CircleCI, to enhance automation and improve deployment efficiency across multiple environments.
  • System Upgrades and Security Patching: Lead comprehensive system upgrades and security patching efforts for Kubernetes, ensuring all components are up-to-date and aligned with the latest security standards.
  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Develop sophisticated monitoring solutions to assess system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to ensure optimal operation and resource usage.
  • Complex Problem Solving: Engage in high-level problem-solving with IT and development teams to address critical system issues, ensuring robustness and scalability of infrastructure solutions.
  • Collaborate on Architectural Decisions: Work with architecture teams to define and implement best practices for cloud and container environments.
  • Vendor Management and Tool Selection: Evaluate and select tools and technologies to improve the DevSecOps pipeline; manage vendor relationships to ensure service and product delivery aligns with business needs.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Ensure all system configurations and deployments are documented; lead compliance audits and remediate any issues to maintain industry standards.
Job Specification *

Qualifications 

(Basic Degree/Diploma etc)

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Diploma with IT experience for more than 10 years .

Professional Qualification and/or Regulatory, Licensing requirements  

Added advantage with the following qualification(s):

  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), VMware vSphere with Tanzu, Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator.
  • Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language, preferably Python or Java, with demonstrable experience in automating processes in a Kubernetes environment.
  • Advanced certifications in cloud platforms like AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or Azure Cloud architect, focusing on containerized environments.
  • Be able to describe the overlap between Kubernetes upstream and downstream distributions (OpenShift, Rancher or VMWare Tanzu)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Relevant Work Experience 

  • Extensive Experience in Container Management: At least 7+ years of hands-on experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes, including setting up, managing, and optimizing large-scale deployments.
  • Advanced CI/CD Pipeline Implementation: Proven track record in designing and implementing robust CI/CD pipelines in a DevSecOps environment, using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, and CircleCI, with a focus on automation and integration for multiple parallel projects.
  • System Architecture and Design: Experience in architecting and managing secure, scalable, and highly available systems across hybrid cloud environments, demonstrating a strong understanding of underlying infrastructure as code (IaC) principles.
  • Leadership in Technical Projects: Experience in leading and managing complex technical projects and cross-functional teams, without necessarily holding a formal managerial role, focusing on mentoring and strategic project direction.
  • Security and Compliance: Hands-on involvement in ensuring compliance with industry-specific regulations, implementing security best practices, and conducting vulnerability assessments within containerized environments.
  • Automation: Proficiency in scripting and automation using tools like Bash, Python, or similar.

  • CI/CD Mastery: Proficient with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, FluxCD,  ArgoCD, Helm or Ansible for advanced automation and pipeline efficiency.
  • Programming Skills: Strong in Python or Java and scripting for automation tasks.
  • Security Compliance: Knowledgeable in security protocols and regulatory compliance.
  • System Architecture: Skilled in designing robust, scalable cloud infrastructures.
  • Performance Optimization: Adept at monitoring and optimizing system performance.

Non-Technical Skills:

  • Strategic Planning: Capable of leading strategic technology initiatives.
  • Team Collaboration: Strong facilitator across IT and business teams.
  • Problem Solving: Excellent in diagnosing and resolving complex issues.
  • Effective Communication: Clear communicator of technical and non-technical concepts.
  • Change Management: Experienced in leading and adapting to technological changes.
