Principal TEMPEST Engineer 

Primary Work Location:  Remote with Travel 

Must be a U.S Citizen: Yes 

Clearance: Top Secret Clearance 


Job Summary 

  

Act as subject matter expert for all TEMPEST related exchange between the company and U.S. government agencies. Serve as advisor on national TEMPEST guideline interpretation and program oversight.

  

Specific Responsibilities 

  • Schedule and conduct Instrumented TEMPEST Surveys (ITS).
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on TEMPEST matters.
  • Manage and train other contract employees with less experience in TEMPEST activities.
  • Serves as the Company Appointed TEMPEST Authority (CATA), and the senior member of the      contractor’s TEMPEST Test Team.
  • Represent the company on the Government Industry TEMPEST Advisory Panel (GITAP)
  • Direct TEMPEST operations, including scheduling, budgeting, personnel management, procurement of test equipment, and supervision of the company’s Certified TEMPEST Test Services Facility (CTTSF) and TEMPEST Team members.
  • Conduct Instrumented Testing (ITS) and Visual TEMPEST Inspections (VTI) at government facilities nationwide, author TEMPEST Test Plans and TEMPEST Test Reports in compliance with the National TEMPEST Specification and manage all TEMPEST-related work and activities.

   

Requirements

  

  • Candidate must be NSA-certified TEMPEST Professional II (CTP II).
  • Minimum of 15 years TEMPEST-related experience.
  • BS and MS degree in a related field. This requirement may be waived with 20 years of experience, particularly with a strong background in shipboard classified systems.
  • Experience in managing TEMPEST operations, including scheduling, budgeting, and personnel supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of national TEMPEST guidelines, compliance requirements, and test methodologies.
  • Ability to coordinate Visual TEMPEST Inspections through the C5ISC ESD-ASB-CSS TEMPEST Office.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills for authoring reports, plans, and presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with government representatives, technical teams, and corporate leadership.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Current DoD 8570 baseline certification for IAM Level II/III or IAT Level II/III.
  • CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)      
  • CND (Certified Network Defender)

  

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Normal office environment and laboratory settings.
  • Ability to move through confined and restricted spaces
  • Capable of climbing ladders and stairways
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment ranging up to 50 – 75 lbs.

  

Travel Requirements

  • 40-60%
