Job Summary:

VP IT Risk and Cybersecurity is a senior-level role and key member within the Technology Management Team. This role is responsible for overseeing MUSA’s overall IT risk management and cybersecurity strategy, identifying and mitigating cyber risks, implementing security measures, ensuring compliance with regulations, and leading a team of cybersecurity professionals to protect the company's data and systems. This role will also serve as the organization’s primary liaison with both MUFG US and International affiliates and their respective IT Risk and Cybersecurity representatives.

Additional responsibilities will include the following:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive IT risk management and cybersecurity strategy aligned with business objectives, including risk assessments, threat analysis, and vulnerability management.

  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize potential IT and cybersecurity risks across the organization, proposing mitigation strategies to minimize impact.

  • Ensure adherence to relevant data privacy and security regulations and industry standards.

  • Design and implement security controls and technologies across networks, systems, applications, and data to protect against cyber threats.

  • Develop and manage incident response plans to effectively detect, contain, and remediate security breaches.

  • Educate employees at all levels on cybersecurity best practices and awareness to minimize human error risks.

  • Assess the security posture of third-party vendors and manage associated risks.

  • Lead and manage a team of cybersecurity analysts, engineers, and specialists, providing guidance and career development opportunities.

  • Collaborate with other departments like IT, legal, and business units to integrate IT risk and cybersecurity considerations into projects and operations.

  • Monitor IT risk and cybersecurity performance through key metrics and provide regular updates to executive leadership on security posture and risks.

Skills and Specialized Knowledge:

  • Deep understanding of IT risk management and cybersecurity principles, threats, and vulnerabilities.

  • Expertise in network security, application security, data protection, and identity management.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively influence stakeholders.

  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address IT risk and security issues.

  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance frameworks.

  • Knowledge of Capital Markets, Trade services, and payment operations.

  • Ability to manage budgets and resource allocation for IT risk and cybersecurity initiatives.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

  • Preferred experience with ServiceNow, Archer, Jira, and Confluence.

Certifications:

  • CISM, CISA, CRISC.

Education:

  • Degree or equivalent work experience preferable in Technology, Risk Management, Computer Science, Information Systems; Graduate Degree preferred.

Other Qualifications: 

  • As per MUFG’s location & return to work policy, must work onsite 4 days and 1 day remotely out of 1251 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY office. 

The typical base pay range for this role is between $139K - $171K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
