As a software analyst on our team, you’ll work with a team of analysts and lab scanning tools evaluating software developed for national security systems (NSS) against well-defined software requirements. Using your understanding of software languages such as C/C++ and Java, and software coding best practices, you will evaluate software and firmware designs and documentation to find issues and develop findings reports to guide mitigations. You will also work with peers to review findings and recommended mitigations, and then you’ll advise your clients regarding corrective actions via technical exchange meetings and assessment reports. You will also help advance the state-of-the-art in software evaluation by contributing to the team’s efforts to improve accuracy and automate the assessment tools used. You Have:
- 1+ years of experience working with Java, C/C++, or Python programming languages
- Experience with code scanning techniques or tools
- Experience working with software and firmware design documentation such as software requirements specifications and software development best practices and processes
- Experience working in a team environment on the development or assessment of software or firmware-based designs
- Experience reviewing and creating professional documentation and diagrams in support of designs or assessments
- Knowledge of software testing concepts such as unit testing, fuzzing, static analysis, and dynamic analysis
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, CS, Engineering, or Mathematics
Nice If You Have:
- Experience with High Assurance, RMF, or NIST assessment, validation, or evaluation processes and requirements
- Knowledge of cryptographic algorithms, public key concepts, and networking protocols
- Knowledge of hardware description languages such as VHDL
- Knowledge of Memory Safe languages such as RUST
- TS/SCI clearance
- DoDI 8570 Level I Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $47,000.00 to $96,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
