Internship Overview

OpenSesame seeks passionate, driven students to join us for a paid summer internship program. Suppose you’re intelligent, curious, and full of fresh ideas. As a Compliance and Security Analyst Intern, you’ll work on real-world compliance and security challenges, contribute to impactful solutions, and collaborate with teams across OpenSesame to strengthen our security and compliance posture.

About the Security and Compliance Team

At OpenSesame, our Security and Compliance Team ensures our company meets the highest industry standards and regulatory requirements. We focus on compliance with ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, and other security frameworks, vendor risk assessments, incident response, and policy enforcement.

Our team partners across departments to mitigate risks, respond to security threats, and maintain a strong security culture. Through continuous learning and innovation, we protect the organization and help drive secure business growth.

Performance Objectives

2 Weeks

  • Gain hands-on experience with GRC compliance tools such as Drata and security frameworks like ISO 27001 and SOC 2.
  • Shadow team members to understand security and compliance workflows.
  • Participate in discussions on regulatory requirements and security best practices.
  • Become familiar with JIRA, Confluence, and other project management tools for tracking compliance-related tasks and projects. 

30 Days

  • Assist in collecting and reviewing evidence for audits and compliance tracking.
  • Assist in managing and maintaining our Trust Center portal for customers. 
  • Help assess vendor security and document compliance findings.
  • Support security awareness initiatives, including phishing simulations and policy training.

60 Days

  • Take ownership of assigned security and compliance tasks, contributing independently to projects.
  • Become comfortable owning several audit evidence collection tasks in Drata.
  • Assist in analyzing vulnerability findings and manage the tracking of monitoring remediation efforts.

  • End: Friday, August 15, 2025

Commitment:

  • Full-time (40 hours/week) for 7 ½ weeks

Compensation:

  • Standard: $18/hour

Fully Remote Role: Interns must have a personal computer and access to consistent high-speed internet during working hours.

Opportunities and Expectations: As a summer intern at OpenSesame, you’ll have the chance to grow your skills through training courses and meaningful work. You’ll also participate in enriching program events, including learning opportunities, networking, community service projects, and book club discussions. 

Additionally, you’ll collaborate with other interns on a group-led project that will have a real impact.

Interview Process: After the initial resume review, selected applicants will be invited to complete a creative project of their choice—such as a video, vision board, writing sample, or website—to showcase their skills and answer questions about why they’re interested in this opportunity and what makes them a great fit. This will be followed by interviews with our team.
