About the role


We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced security leader to expand and operate our fast-growing Security Operations function. The role reports directly to Rippling’s CISO and leads SIRT, Detection Engineering, Corporate Security and will add a Red Team this year.

What you will do

  • Lead global teams of talented security engineers across Security Operations.
  • Create the vision, strategy, and roadmap for our security operations, and iteratively deliver on these goals quarter over quarter.
  • Build effective security controls that measurably reduce risk.
  • Foster strong relationships with the rest of the Security and Engineering organization, helping them prioritize the right security work.
  • Work with our legal, PR and customer support teams to both manage incidents and improve processes.

What you will need

  • 15+ years of experience in Security Engineering - particularly working in Detection & Response roles and building SecOps programs at SaaS companies.
  • 10+ years of experience  in a leadership role.
  • You are a hands-on technical leader who is able to lead people and technical roadmaps. You are a people leader, but you have not grown too far from your technical roots and are excited about the art of building security into complex systems.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • A talent magnet; you can attract and retain top security talent.
  • Significant experience across the entire IR life cycle including: running incidents and  building detection controls.
  • Experience working with and briefing executives, legal counsel and PR during security incidents.
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to influence outside of the security domain.
  • An ability to organize and execute with experience in engineering processes, OKRs and KPIs. Driving security program maturity through code and security metrics.
  • Pragmatism, and a passion for SaaS products and start-up culture.
