We are seeking an experienced Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to support our growing team. This role is responsible for ensuring the security and compliance of information systems, enforcing cybersecurity policies, and collaborating with stakeholders to mitigate risks.
Your key responsibilities
- Maintain and enforce information security policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Review and update System Security Plans (SSPs) and evaluate system changes for security impacts.
- Develop and support operational procedures to address classified data spills, intrusions, and unauthorized access incidents in compliance with federal regulations.
- Apply expertise in NIST SP 800-series, DHS 4300A, and the DHS Security Authorization Process Guide to ensure security compliance.
- Manage security programs within eMASS and IACS platforms.
- Conduct vulnerability scans, review compliance results, and monitor Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms).
- Perform security audits and risk assessments, preparing reports with remediation recommendations.
- Ensure user training and access reviews to maintain security awareness and compliance.
- Support configuration management for security software, hardware, and firmware.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Bachelors degree
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity analysis, assessment, design, and implementation.
- Expertise in NIST and FISMA security requirements and reporting.
- Experience in engineering and implementing security solutions to enhance system security.
- Knowledge of risk mitigation strategies and security control selection.
- Information Assurance experience, including system certification and accreditation.
- Proficiency in vulnerability scanning tools, patch management, and compliance enforcement.
- Experience managing cloud security and collaborating with engineering teams to enhance security posture.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Clearance: Active DHS clearance

What we offer We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $103,800 to $190,300. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $124,600 to $216,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
