This role is to work within the Security Vulnerability team, reporting to the Security Vulnerability Manager. You will assist Johnson Matthey Security Vulnerability management operations, which help secure Johnson Matthey’s enterprise IT infrastructure. The team is responsible for monitoring of vulnerabilities via discovery and identification, prioritisation, reporting, and helping remediate security vulnerabilities (including as part of the Incident Response process where required). The Vulnerability team works closely with Security Engineering, Security Operations (SecOps), Infrastructure and Operations (I&O), Engineering (including SecDevOps), and Operational Technology (OT), in identifying and managing information security risks and remediating these proactively to help protect Johnson Matthey.
Your responsibilities:
Source, collate and analyse data related to vulnerabilities, utilising vulnerability analytics methods to evaluate quality
Analyse cyber security vulnerabilities to support prioritisation based on risk and likelihood
Support mitigating activities with relevant stakeholders and escalating where appropriate, including as part of incident response processes where necessary
Create dashboards and other reports to track progress and summarise analysis outcomes
Stay informed on the latest developments in cyber security, and have a good understanding of the wider cyber threat and vulnerabilities landscape
Carry out any other relevant duties which are within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed
Requirements for the role:
A demonstrable passion for and interest in the cyber security field
An aptitude for data analysis and data analysis techniques, e.g., assessing and synthesising information
Experience in or an understanding of enterprise IT, attack vectors and security controls
Practical experience, or knowledge, of:
Vulnerability Management software, vulnerability scanning and assessments
Knowledge of Windows, Linux, and Networking basics
Industry frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK
Familiarity with vulnerabilities as relating to Application Security (e.g., OWASP Top Ten)
