Cyber Security Engineer

About This Role

As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining security controls to protect our customer’s network, ICT systems and data from cyber security threats. This role will have the chance to lead Defence Cyber Security Assessment & Authorisation processes to assist our customer achieve Authority to Operate.

This role will begin as a Fixed Term Contract, running through till the 31st of
May, 2026.

The role we are offering you

• Design security infrastructures and ICT system protection
• Develop and maintain information security policies and compliance
• Assess security control effectiveness
• Develop and maintain Cyber Security Assessment and Authorisation (accreditation) documentation.

Our ideal candidate has:

• Experience within the Defence industry and already holding a Defence Security clearance of NV1 or above is highly desirable
• Proven experience in IT administration & IT Security
• Strong knowledge and exposure to Cyber GRC Services

Location:

• Homebush, NSW
• This role will operate a hybrid working approach.
• Your role will involve some travel to sites, in particular HMAS Albatross in Nowra, when required.

Security requirements

As the Australian Department of Defence is a major client, you must be eligible for SECRET (NV1) level Defence security clearance, and preferably already hold a current SECRET (NV1) clearance.
