The Audit and Compliance College Aide will collaborate with the Audit and Compliance Division within OTI’s Office of Cyber Command. Under the guidance of the division's leadership, the College Aide will contribute to shaping the Audit and Compliance program, while supporting the enforcement of cybersecurity policies and procedures for New York City agencies. This role is integral to strengthening the City’s cybersecurity posture and ensuring compliance with established standards.
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
- Assist in reviewing NYC agencies’ cybersecurity programs to help determine risks and ensure they follow Citywide cybersecurity policies and standards.
- Participate in discussions with IT, Security, and Legal teams across the agency and provide recommendations on various Risk and Compliance topics, such as Cybersecurity, Privacy and Data
Protection, and information discoverability under Freedom of Information Law.
- Participate in reviewing audits of cybersecurity programs and projects.
- Participate in assessing risks and supporting the audit process for cybersecurity programs and projects.
- Assist in reviewing and updating information security and technology policies and procedures for NYC agencies.
- Assist in creating and maintaining internal cybersecurity compliance policies and procedures and provide recommendations for possible improvements to the Audit and Compliance program.
- Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned.
HOURS/SHIFT
Day - No student shall be employed more than half-time in any week in which classes in which the student is enrolled are in session. Students may be employed full-time during their vacation periods.

Qualifications
For Assignment Level I:
Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school.
For Assignment Level II (Information Technology):
Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or closely related field, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study.
For Assignment Level III (Information Technology Fellow):
Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or other area relevant to the information technology project(s) assigned, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study. Appointments to this Assignment Level will be made by the Technology Steering Committee through the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications.
SPECIAL NOTE
Maximum tenure for all Assignment Levels in the title of College Aide is 6 years. No student shall be employed more than half-time in any week in which classes in which the student is enrolled are in session. Students may be employed full-time during their vacation periods.
