Northrop Grumman is seeking a Cyber Systems Administrator for the Navy Aegis program Aegis Ashore Team Trainer (AATT) at Dam Neck, Virginia.  AATT leverages an integrated Simulation/Stimulation environment combining tactical hardware and software components with simulated elements to create a high-fidelity training environment.  AATT is a Train to Certify level trainer which allows for full certification of the watch team prior to their posting at the Aegis Ashore sites.  The classroom houses a mock-up of the Combat Information Center (CIC) and a fully simulated C4I suite allowing for robust team training of Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) missions. 

You will work on a team of support engineers, system administrators, and cyber security professionals.  This team provides on-site maintenance for the trainer and support to the instructor team. Join us in providing cutting edge training to the next generation of Navy warfighters.

NOTE: Working shift hours for this position are expected to be as follows:

40 hour work week

Monday - Thursday 1100am – 7pm

Friday 0900-5pm

Responsibilities includes:

  • Work with site support personnel as well as Government Information System Security Manager and Officer (ISSM and ISSO)
  • Assist with updating Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
  • Supporting troubleshooting and maintain computer servers.
  • Review Security Logs
  • Monitor systems via ePO server
  • ACAS/Nessus scanning of systems/networks.
  • Evaluate-STIG scans; review/update STIG checklists; review/update Evaluate-STIG answer files.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity.

Basic Qualification Requirements: 

  • A bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience or High school diploma / equivalent with 6 years of experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.  
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Ability to work on-site at NAS Oceana Dam Neck, Virginia
  • Working knowledge of Linux to perform basic Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administrator tasks and troubleshooting.
  • Basic understanding of network device operational interfaces such as Cisco IOS.
  • Working knowledge of Information Assurance (IA) policies and procedures.
  • Security+ or other similar acceptable certification – or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Linux or Red hat Certifications
  • Knowledge of general principles of Microsoft Domain System Administration to maintain small/medium LAN systems 
  • Experience with McAfee/Trellix ePO and ENS
  • Cyber security experience
  • STIGs and IAVA
  • Knowledge of the DOD’s Cybersecurity Toolkit (i.e. EvaluateSTIG/SCAP/ACAS)

Salary Range: $73,900.00 - $110,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
