Malware Analyst and Reverse Engineer Team Lead

Key Role:

Lead a team of malware analysts, reverse engineers, and developers to help identify weaknesses in existing cryptographic methods utilized in adversary malware. Lead a team of professionals to perform static and dynamic code analysis on malware samples to extract indicators and identify the communications methods of the sample in question. Evaluate and analyze complex malicious code by using tools, including disassemblers, debuggers, hex editors, unpackers, virtual machines, and network sniffers. Perform research in the areas of malicious software, vulnerabilities, and exploitation tactics. Conduct full-stack development. Leverage your expertise to create technical reports for identification parameters, advanced capabilities, and potential mitigation strategies. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications:  

  • 5+ years of experience conducting dynamic and static analysis of malware and tools, including disassemblers, debuggers, virtual machines, or hex editors

  • Experience with using malware reverse engineering to determine indicators of compromise on one or more of Linux, Windows, or mobile platforms

  • Experience with Windows Kernel, C, C++, Python, or Assembly Language

  • Ability to use existing frameworks to prototype, document, test, and transition capabilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics

Additional Qualifications:   

  • Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs

  • Experience with DevOps practices and containerization

  • Experience with Python for backend development

  • Experience with React, Redux, and modern front-end frameworks

  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases and query optimizationexp

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $96,600.00 to $220,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
