THE JOB:
The Merger & Acquisition Lead Analyst is responsible for the technical assessment, planning, and integration of IT systems during mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. This role involves collaborating with various teams to define service standards and ensure effective service delivery. A strong technical background in IT infrastructure, cloud, network systems, and cybersecurity is essential, as the Lead Analyst will evaluate and integrate the technology environments of target companies. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, operations, and external stakeholders, to ensure smooth technical integration that aligns with overall business objectives.


THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Evaluate target companies' IT infrastructure, applications, data centers, cloud environments, and security frameworks for scalability, risks, and compatibility with the acquiring organization’s IT landscape.

  • Document and report on the target company’s technical stack, identifying integration opportunities and challenges.

  • Develop and implement IT integration plans focusing on infrastructure, applications, and data migration during mergers and acquisitions.

  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to align technology and minimize disruption, while collaborating with business leaders to prioritize integration efforts based on business needs, risk, and cost.

  • Lead the technical integration of systems, networks, and cloud platforms post-merger, ensuring seamless operational continuity.

  • Oversee the migration of IT assets, ensuring business continuity and system stability, while managing network, firewall, security protocols, and user access configurations.

  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity best practices, regulatory requirements, and corporate IT policies, identifying and mitigating security risks during integration.

  • Support IT aspects of divestitures, disentangling shared systems, data, and infrastructure, and planning for the clean separation of IT services.

  • Provide regular updates to leadership on the status of M&A-related technical activities and serve as a technical advisor during deal negotiations to address IT-related risks and opportunities.

  • Identify opportunities to optimize IT infrastructure, reduce technical debt, and enhance system performance post-integration, recommending upgrades to cloud services, applications, or infrastructure.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years of prior relevant experience in IT roles focused on infrastructure, systems Lead Analyst, or technology integration, ideally within an M&A context.

  • Strong expertise in IT integration, focusing on security, performance, and compliance during M&A, with experience in architecting and integrating cloud environments, data systems, and enterprise applications.

  • Skilled in systems and application design, integration, and optimization to support business objectives.

  • Excellent problem-solving, project management, and analytical skills, with a track record of managing complex projects under tight deadlines in M&A environments.

  • Exceptional communication skills, able to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience with IT governance and compliance frameworks (SAFE, ITIL, COBIT, ISO 27001) and knowledge of M&A-related cybersecurity and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, GCB, MICA).

  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, ensuring successful project delivery.

  • Certifications in cloud (AWS, Azure) or cybersecurity (CISSP, CISM) are a plus.
