Fully remote are roles that can be performed remotely, require employees to live in approved states and will have purpose-driven in-person interactions on occasion.

Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for regulatory compliance project management oversight of PSEG Long Island's Internal Compliance Program in the implementation of North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) and/or Operations & Planning Standards on behalf of the Long Island Power Authority's (LIPA's) four (4) registrations: Transmission Owner (TO), Transmission Operator (TOP), Transmission Planner (TP), and  Distribution Provider (DP). 

Develops and executes project schedules and tasks, related to NERC Reliability Standards compliance activities applicable to Bulk Electric Systems, in close collaboration with cross functional department subject-matter-experts. Applies project management methodologies and techniques to report project status and quality metrics to management.  Allocates tasks and resources to meet project schedules.  

Assists the Manager - NERC Compliance in preparing and reviewing NERC and the Northeast Power Coordinating Council (NPCC) regulatory reports submitted on behalf of LIPA.  Monitors and evaluates the business impact of FERC, NERC, NPCC, and NYSRC notices of proposed rule-makings (NOPRs) and provides guidance and oversight for the implementation of promulgated standards to the organization.  Performs guided self certifications and manages regulatory and spot check audits to ensure compliance. 

 

Job Specific Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• A minimum of 6 years of related experience managing NERC CIP Compliance related projects
• Experience with NERC-O&P and CIP Standards and requirements, technical network and systems knowledge, and understanding of security vulnerabilities
• Solid project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a cross-functional environment
• Strong analytical, communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster working relationships with the team and client departments
• Expert knowledge of MS Project, Visio, Adobe Pro, MS Office

Desired Qualifications
• Advanced degree, e.g. Masters of Business Administration, MS in Computer Science or Information Systems
• Experience with Policy and Procedure writing and Auditing
• Project Management Certification (PMP) or other industry certifications, e.g. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
