As a key technical expert, this role focuses on architecting industrial cybersecurity solutions, guiding IT/OT convergence efforts, and ensuring customers adopt best-in-class security measures. The engagement manager will be a trusted advisor to C-level executives, engineering teams, and security professionals, providing in-depth knowledge of industrial control systems (ICS) security, network segmentation, and compliance frameworks. Reporting to a Technical Director, this position is ideal for someone who thrives in a customer-facing, thought leadership-driven role.
What You Will Do:
- Serves as technical expert on project tasks to ensure quality services are delivered on schedule and within available budget to meet customer requirements by providing guidance on regulatory compliance, risk assessments, and security operations in OT environments, and providing frequent updates to the project manager.
- Assist project manager with defining and sequencing project tasks, estimating task duration and developing a project schedule as part of developing a project management plan
- Review project management plans to understand the scope, schedule and assigned work authorization
- Lead pre-sales technical engagements, working with sales teams to define cybersecurity solutions that align with customer business needs
- Architect and propose scalable, secure, and resilient industrial cybersecurity solutions, including network segmentation, endpoint protection, cloud security, and IT/OT integration strategies
- Develop and execute proof-of-concept (PoC) projects, showcasing the impact of security solutions in industrial environments
- Assist with research and data analysis, including assisting with conducting customer or stakeholder analyses.
- Prepare and deliver written documents, reports, high-level technical presentations, and solution demonstrations
- Work with individuals at all levels, provide input to reports and other deliverables, execute multiple assignments, meet agreed deadlines, and adjust to changing client demands
- Perform quality assurance on project deliverables
- Develop relationships with existing customers to facilitate development of new business opportunities for current and/or additional services.
- Learn, understand and be conversant in ABS Group products and services
- Meet with new and existing clients and actively listen to their needs
- Communicate client needs to project managers and supervisors
- Engage with executive leadership and technical teams, helping them understand cybersecurity risks and mitigation strategies
- Work closely with operations and lab teams, ensuring solutions align with customer requirements and market needs
- Review published reports and news articles about existing and potential new clients to identify customer intelligence
- Participate in proposal development, including writing proposals
- Represent ABS Group and participate in promoting our products and services
- Participate in marketing activities, conference presentations, technical whitepapers
- Networking to meet new potential clients
What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
- Must have a bachelor's or master’s degree or equivalent experience in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or military experience
- Advanced Degree and/or Professional certification required
- 10+ years of relevant professional experience in cybersecurity, with 5+ years specializing in OT/ICS security and solution architecture
- Must have hands-on experience with PoC deployments, security architecture reviews, and solution demonstrations.
- Must have hands-on experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, OT SIEM, endpoint protection, and secure remote access solutions.
- Proven expertise in SCADA, DCS, PCN, and OT security frameworks (IEC 62443, NIST 800-82, CISA guidelines).
- Experienced in conducting threat modeling, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments for OT environments.

- Ability to gain, retain, comprehend, and transfer knowledge to other members of the team.
- Ability to serve as a mentor/coach to mid-level consultants and actively hones technical skills in others.
- Ability to actively listen to the needs of our clients by receiving shared information and determine context of the information provided and generating probing questions to better understand, retaining the information for future access, engaging with sales team on potential opportunities, suggesting solutions to sales team, and responding with proposed solutions.
- Excellent public speaking and customer engagement abilities for pre-sales and thought leadership activities.
- Ability to lead pre-sales engagements, cybersecurity solution design, and IT/OT convergence projects.
- Ability to engage C-level executives, security teams, and operational technology professionals in cybersecurity strategy discussions.
- Develops a firm understanding of the business and implements opportunities for enhancing effectiveness and efficiencies across the business unit.
- Openly accepts change is part business evolution to meet the needs of our clients, provides recommendations to enhance business, and drives change across the business unit.
- Understands key performance indicators and their significance to the business.
- Ability to utilize established rapport and role as a subject matter expert with existing clients to facilitate development of new business.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills, capable of producing security architectures and best practice guides.
- Deep understanding of industrial networking protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850, OPC UA) and their security implications.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver outcomes with their colleagues.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% for customer engagements, industry conferences, and executive briefings.
- Must be dependable, highly reliable and follow through on all assignments.
- Ability to obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System.

Reports to a director, or executive level position and may have individual contributor and/or managing direct reports.
