WHY BOX NEEDS YOU

The Compliance team at Box is responsible for control reviews and external audits. We are looking for a driven Intern to assist with different compliance tasks that range from audit framework reviews to audit evidence gathering and wants to put their audit experience, technical expertise, and information security knowledge to action.

This position will be embedded as a member of the Compliance team within the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) group. You’ll partner with individuals across the business to build scalable and efficient processes related to controls, risks, corrective actions, product compliance, and the overall compliance framework.

This role is a great opportunity for someone looking for an internal and cross-functional perspective of how company audits work and enable the business. You will have a chance to learn not only about audits, but the various functions within Compliance and the broader GRC space.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Develop a deep understanding of Box's Compliance activities within audits, strengthen your project management and leadership skills, and gain exposure to a wide variety of functional teams within Box

  • Support annual security audits like PCI and SOC for Service Organizations

  • Assist with continuous monitoring, remediation, and reporting of controls to management and coordinate cross functional team meetings to remediate and close the control gaps

  • Work with cross functional teams on things like vulnerability management in support of audits

  • Maintain evidence documentation across internal stakeholders for a repeatable process

WHO YOU ARE

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree (B.A./B.S.) in Business, Management Science, or Management Information Systems from an accredited college or university, graduating between December 2025 - June 2026

  • Familiarity and interest in business process and policies - knowledge of information security management systems preferred, but not required

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, as well as analytical and conceptual problem-solving skills

  • Like to be yourself, bring your whole self to work, and have fun (cuz we like to have fun!)

  • Above all, we're looking for someone who's creative, gets things done, and can imagine and communicate how things could be better

Box lives its values, with community and in-person collaboration being a core part of our culture. Our interns are expected to work out of our Redwood City headquarters this summer with a minimum of 2 days per week, with a focus on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Your Recruiter will share more about how we work and company culture during the hiring process.
