Applies basic foundation of a function's principles, theories and concepts to assignments of limited scope. Uses professional concepts and theoretical knowledge acquired through specialized training, education or previous experience. Develops expertise and practical knowledge of applications within business environment. Acts as team member by providing information, analysis and recommendations in support of team efforts. Exercises independent judgment within defined parameters.
Responsibilities:
• Monitors HP security systems both in real time and at rest.
• Supports others in the resolution of HP security issues related to security technology.
• Aggregates and synthesizes knowledge of HP's business and industry security issues and threats.
• Performs routine maintenance and enhancements on HP's security solutions.
• Ensures delivery of defined HP security best practices.
Education and Experience Required:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience will be considered.
• Technical Cyber Security Certification through one of the recognized bodies preferred: SANS, ISACA, (ICS)2, CompTIA, Cisco, CERT etc.
• General experience preferred, but not required in relevant technologies, products and customer environments.
Knowledge and Skills:
• Fundamental Cyber and IT security knowledge.
• Fundamental understanding of Cyber and IT security risks, threats and prevention measures.
• Fundamental understanding of relevant scripting languages (perl, python, powershell, HTML, javascript, etc.).
• Fundamental security system analysis skills.
• Fundamental understanding of security standards and best practices.
• Fundamental risk assessment and management skills.
• Fundamental understanding of networking and network security.
• Fundamental understanding of network monitoring and protocols.
• Fundamental understanding of one or more of the following:
o Off-the-shelf vulnerability assessment products and tools.
o Network security devices (firewalls, proxies, NIDS/NIPS, etc.).
o Platform and application-layer penetration testing techniques.
o Adversary techniques, tactics, and protocols and related countermeasures.
o Dynamic and static malware analysis techniques.
o Network security monitoring.
o Memory analysis techniques.
o Malware reverse engineering techniques.
o Digital Forensics.
