AIMCo is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technology Internal Auditor to join our Internal Audit team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in evaluating and enhancing our technology processes, cybersecurity measures, and IT governance processes. You will have the opportunity to leverage various Information Technology controls in order to help AIMCo achieve optimal operational efficiency and reach its business goals.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Planning, coordinating and executing audits of IT processes leveraging control frameworks (such as COBIT, NIST, and OSFI)

  • Conduct comprehensive audits of our technology systems, including trading, accounting, performance and data platforms

  • Draft audit reports and present issues to the business while discussing practical cross-functional solutions

  • Developing IT audit programs that proactively address organizational risks and align with the strategic priorities of leadership

  • Consulting on IT initiatives and monitoring, assessing, and recommending solutions to emerging risks

  • Following up on existing management action plans

  • Contributing to the development of audit process improvements, including the development of automated routines

  • Applying internal audit standards, policies, and regulations to provide timely audit assurance and influence audit scope

  • Develop effective line management relationships to ensure a strong understanding of the business

Our Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field is preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience auditing IT systems and applications in a medium to large-scale environment, preferably in Investment Management or Capital Markets, with a strong understanding of related IT risks, controls, and regulations.

  • Completion of relevant designations such as Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is required. Other designations such as CIA are desirable.

  • Experience managing or auditing Investment Management applications, Server technologies, CI/CD pipeline management, Infrastructure Provisioning and Management, Databases, Middleware, Software Development and Production Support practices, Cybersecurity management, IT Projects, and the ITIL general controls processes.

  • Demonstrated analytical ability to understand IT control issues and related risks and controls to identify the root causes and recommend solutions.

  • Preferred experience in designing or using Computer Assisted Audit Tools and Techniques (CAATTs) 

  • Effective verbal and written communication and negotiation skills

  • Effective project management skills

  • Effective relationship management skills and the ability to influence

  • Ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.

Success Measures:
  • Demonstrates excellence in planning, coordinating and executing technology and data related audits in alignment with established IA standards.

  • Understands and navigates AIMCo’s complex technology architecture and collaborates effectively with stakeholders to coordinate the successful completion of audits.

  • Works collaboratively through different team dynamics and strengthens relationships through effective conflict resolution, communication, and problem solving.

  • Contributes to ideation, innovation, process improvements and proposes practical recommendations for implementation.
