What is this role about?

The role will oversee the implementation and maintenance of security measures to protect an organization's digital assets and sensitive information.

The role will significantly contribute to safeguarding the company's reputation, financial stability, and operational continuity by mitigating risks of data breaches, cyberattacks, and regulatory non-compliance.

What will YOU do?

  • Oversee the effective implementation of cybersecurity measures by coordinating with IT teams to deploy and maintain firewalls, antivirus software, encryption protocols, and other security technologies
  • Develop and enforce comprehensive security policies and procedures including drafting and/or updating policies regarding data access, incident response, password management, and regulatory compliance
  • Monitor the evolving threat landscape and assess potential risks by conducting regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to identify and address vulnerabilities in the system
  • Manage and lead incident response teams in handling security breaches by developing incident response plans, conducting drills, and providing training to ensure swift and effective response to security incidents
  • Collaborate Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into business processes by working closely with software development, legal, compliance, and HR departments to embed security into product development, legal compliance, and employee training programs
  • Educate staff on cybersecurity best practices and awareness by conducting regular training sessions, workshops, and awareness campaigns to promote a culture of security awareness among employees
  • Ensure continuous learning to stay updated on emerging cybersecurity technologies and trends by attending conferences, participate in professional development programs, and network with peers to stay abreast of the latest advancements in cybersecurity
  • Performs other functions that may be assigned from time to time

What will YOU need?

  • Graduate of B.S. Information Technology/Computer Science
  • Optional Certifications:
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)/Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)/Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA)/Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)/CompTIA Security+/Project Management Professional (PMP)/GIAC Security Leadership (GSLC) 
  • Professional Experience:
    • Cybersecurity Management Experience: Demonstrated experience in leading cybersecurity teams and managing security operations effectively.
    • Industry Experience: Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, standards, and best practices relevant to the organization's sector (e.g., healthcare, finance, government).
    • Incident Response Experience: Hands-on experience in incident response planning and execution, including managing security breaches and mitigating their impact.
    • Risk Management Experience: Proficiency in conducting risk assessments, developing risk management strategies, and implementing controls to mitigate cybersecurity risks.
    • Compliance Experience: Experience with regulatory compliance frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, and knowledge of their implications for organizational cybersecurity practices.
  • Critical Expertise/Skills:
    • Technical Proficiency: In-depth understanding of cybersecurity technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, encryption, SIEM, and endpoint security solutions.
    • Strategic Planning: Ability to develop and execute strategic cybersecurity initiatives aligned with organizational goals and risk tolerance.
    • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate cybersecurity risks, requirements, and solutions to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
    • Leadership Skills: Leadership qualities to inspire and motivate cybersecurity teams, foster collaboration, and drive continuous improvement in security posture.
    • Problem-Solving Skills: Analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex cybersecurity challenges, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
    • Project Management: Proficiency in project management methodologies to plan, execute, and monitor cybersecurity projects within scope, budget, and timeline constraints.
    • Training and Education: Ability to develop and deliver cybersecurity training programs to raise awareness and enhance security literacy among employees.
    • Adaptability and Continuous Learning: Willingness to stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies through continuous learning and professional development initiatives 
    • Willing to do field work, as needed
