The Role
Enterprise Cybersecurity (ECS) is seeking a Data Analyst to join our Application & Infrastructure Security Product Area. We are looking for an individual who has a passion for data analysis, data visualization, providing insights to our stakeholders, and agile product delivery teams. In this role, you will work in partnership with analysts, squad leads, engineers, and architects toward a shared goal to ensure we meet our shared goals.
The Team
Enterprise Cybersecurity is responsible for protecting Fidelity from external and internal threats against our infrastructure, data and systems. As a team member of the Application Security Tools product delivery cohort, you will be the data analyst that will support the teams’ efforts. The Application Security Tools team vision is Protecting Fidelity's assets and our customers’ livelihoods from the threat of exploitation by malicious adversaries. The squad does this by delivering best-in-class application security tools which enable seamless secure software.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience is required.
8+ years of analyst experience in the form of research, requirements definition, gap analysis, data mining, and data profiling.
Demonstrated ability in data analytics, data warehousing, and data visualization.
Proven experience in building data visualization dashboards using Tableau and/or Power BI.
Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into effective data models, considering data quality, performance, and scalability.
Ability to combine data from multiple sources to tell a story, identify trends and patterns in the data and extract key insights to inform product strategies and decisions
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Understanding of modeling strategies and concepts (dimensional, relational, unstructured).
Understanding of conceptual, logical, and physical data models (3NF) in a relational database environment.
Solid understanding of data lineage. Ability to break down and detail the flow of data from source to target and develop data flow diagrams.
Experience with scripting languages for data manipulation, querying, and profiling on cloud and on-premise database technologies – PL/SQL, SQL, Unix shell scripting, Python, R.
Working understanding of relevant database platforms (e.g., Oracle, Snowflake, Microsoft SQL Server).
Experience with data modeling tools is a plus.
Ability to collaborate with data architects, data engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with overall data strategy.
Ability to effectively communicate complex data modeling concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience working in an Agile team setting (Kanban and/or SCRUM).
Experience working in the Cybersecurity or Risk industry is preferred.
Ability to learn from the data as you engage with business partners, test, research, and analyze so that you have a deep understanding of the “what and why” the data reflects.
Able to work independently; comfortable seeking guidance when needed.
Related Certifications
AWS Certifications are a plus.
