NTU’s Centre for IT Services (CITS) manages campus-wide IT infrastructure, enterprise IT systems, learning systems, and digital media. The Cyber Security team within CITS is responsible for Cyber Security Governance, Operations, and Incident Management.

As part of the Cyber Security team, this role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining security solutions to strengthen NTU’s detection and response capabilities against emerging threats targeting its assets and services.

Key Responsibilities:

Security Administration

  • Administer and integrate advanced security solutions to strengthen NTU’s security posture, mitigate vulnerabilities, and protect against evolving cyber threats.

  • Evaluate and manage system patches and updates, ensuring seamless compatibility, stability, and minimal downtime while mitigating security risks.

  • Configure, manage, and maintain security solutions, including system and network security controls, authentication mechanisms, and access management frameworks.

  • Conduct post-implementation troubleshooting and fine-tuning of security software to optimize performance and resilience.

  • Oversee and enforce access controls, ensuring proper user authentication, authorization, and privilege management.

  • Manage and resolve complex access control issues, coordinating escalations and enforcing security policies to safeguard NTU’s digital assets.

Security Engineering

  • Design, develop, and implement secure system architectures to safeguard NTU’s digital infrastructure, enhancing resilience against evolving cyber threats.

  • Embed security principles into system architecture design to proactively mitigate risks associated with emerging technologies and evolving business practices.

  • Develop security artefacts for enterprise systems, ensuring seamless integration of security principles within the overall system architecture.

  • Conduct regular security reviews and audits to maintain an up-to-date security posture, ensure compliance, and enhance threat readiness.

  • Ensure adherence to cybersecurity standards, protocols, and frameworks to uphold compliance with international security regulations and best practices.

  • Apply a structured and systematic approach to security design and implementation, minimizing vulnerabilities and strengthening NTU’s cybersecurity framework.

Project Management

  • Drive successful project execution, ensuring adherence to budget, timelines, and minimal interdependencies with other initiatives.

  • Develop and implement structured project plans that align with objectives and scope, providing clear direction and achievable milestones.

  • Leverage effective project management tools and methodologies to track progress, maintain alignment with timelines, and ensure seamless execution.

  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks to prevent potential disruptions and maintain project continuity.

  • Foster strong collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and direct contributions to project success.

  • Optimize resource allocation, balancing manpower, budget, and other assets for maximum efficiency and timely completion.

  • Monitor and evaluate project performance, tracking costs, schedules, and resource utilization while implementing corrective actions to address deviations.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline.

  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, GIAC will be advantageous.

  • At least 8 years of relevant working experience in IT infrastructure and/or security operations.

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity architecture, perimeter defences, emerging cyber threats, malware defences, data loss prevention, cryptography and cloud security.

  • Experience in managing the implementation of cybersecurity projects, initiatives, and operationalize security processes in concert with the relevant stakeholders and teams.

  • Strong documentation and presentation skills.

  • Independent and able to perform tasks with minimum supervision.

  • Good communicator and facilitator with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Display confidence in area of expertise and keen interest in learning new technologies and security methodologies.
