Security Engineer (m/f/d)

What the job is about

As a Security Engineer you will continuously improve the organization's security measures to protect Sofico against evolving cyber threats. Promoting a culture of security awareness among employees through training and education is one of your top priorities. You will stay updated with the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies, and apply innovative solutions to enhance security within our organization. Therefore you will work closely with other departments to integrate security practices into all aspects of the organization's operations. 

Main Responsibilities:

• Threat Analysis and Mitigation: Identify, analyze, and mitigate potential cybersecurity threats to our network and systems.
• Security Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and manage security measures to protect our data and infrastructure.
• Incident Response: Enable the response to security incidents, including investigation, containment, and recovery.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with relevant cybersecurity regulations and standards, and manage risk assessments.
• Security Awareness Training: Develop and conduct training programs to educate employees on cybersecurity best practices.

Decision making:

• Strategic Planning: Develop and implement long-term cybersecurity strategies aligned with business goals.
• Risk Assessment: Evaluate and prioritize security risks, making informed decisions to mitigate them effectively.
• Incident Management: Make quick, decisive actions during security incidents to minimize impact and ensure swift recovery.
• Policy Development: Create and enforce cybersecurity policies and procedures to maintain a secure environment.

 

You’ll be part of the Security team and will work closely with several technical teams (IT, Tooling, PPT & DEV) and internal stakeholders.

Your interests and skills

You bring 3-5 years of experience in Cyber security. 

You have the ability to conduct vulnerability assessments, knowledge of penetration tests and bring expertise in handling security incidents and/or skills in digital forensics.    What else is expected:

• Experience with Cyber security and SIEM tools and/or managed SOC services
• Technical IT knowledge (operating systems, network security, cryptography, cloud security)
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and standards such as ISO27001
• Being fluent in English, as we are an international company. Dutch knowledge is a huge plus.
