I. Job Summary
Lead and enhance our Security Operations Center (SOC). SOC Manager is responsible for overseeing security monitoring, incident response, and threat intelligence to protect our organization from cyber threats. You will manage a team of security analysts, collaborate with IT and business leaders, and continuously improve security operations and processes.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned and may vary by department.
- Lead a team of security analysts, ensuring effective 24/7 monitoring and incident response.
- Oversee security incidents from detection to resolution, ensuring proper escalation and mitigation.
- Stay ahead of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques to enhance defense strategies.
- Manage SIEM and other security tools to detect, analyze, and respond to threats in real-time.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with security standards (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, etc.) and generate reports for leadership.
- Mentor and train SOC analysts, ensuring continuous skill development and knowledge-sharing.
- Evaluate and recommend security tools, automation, and processes to improve SOC efficiency.
- Coordinates with business owners to determine business needs or requirements.
- Plans initiatives and projects, establishes priorities and monitors progress.
- Acts as a team leader or project manager and/or establishes and communicates common goal and direction for the team.
- Evaluates status and resource utilization and implements changes to improve the team's effectiveness.
- May coordinate with other managers to integrate project with applications and/or initiatives.
- Prepares reports and presentations and necessary. Coordinates communication between peers, team, business owners and management.
- Coordinates and oversees career development, performance management, pay determination and team communication.
III. Supervisory Responsibilities
The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is management of supervisory employees. This includes:
- Direct supervision of full-time employees including team leads and individual contributors.
IV. Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.
A. Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience. Experience: Six (6) years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement).
