Position Summary
The IT Disaster Recovery Analyst plays an important role in the organization by performing a number of activities related to the company’s IT functions. The role is primarily responsible for ensuring that a company's data and systems can be quickly restored in the event of an IT disruption or disaster.
Essential Functions
- Assist in the development, maintenance and testing of disaster recovery plans.
- Provide support and expertise during live events.
- Facilitate annual review and approval of existing disaster recovery plans, runbooks, and critical inventory.
- Maintain disaster recovery plans based on changes in technology and organizational structure.
- Monitor and measure the effectiveness of disaster recovery plans and make recommendations for improvement.
- Create various disruption test scenarios and pro-actively develop plans to re-establish operations and enable business recovery from these situations.
- Support the development and maintenance of disaster recovery test plans and test cases.
- Develop, maintain, and report on disaster recovery testing metrics and defects.
- Track and report on disaster recovery testing remediation efforts.
- Collaborate with the business continuity team to plan, participate in, and review business impact assessments annually.
- Identify risks and vulnerabilities by analyzing potential threats to IT systems and developing strategies to mitigate them.
- Analyze impact on, and risk to, essential business information systems to identify acceptable recovery time periods and resource requirements.
- Train employees on disaster recovery procedures and best practices to ensure a rapid response during a disruption or disaster.
- Identify opportunities for strategic improvement or mitigation of system interruptions and other risks; make recommendations to leadership accordingly.
- Collaborate with stakeholders by working with various departments to align disaster recovery plans with business needs and priorities.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and provide consultation, guidance, and oversight to technology for threat analysis and resiliency.
- Interpret government regulations and applicable codes to ensure compliance.
- Stay abreast of trends, tools, and changes related to field of expertise.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or technical field related to the position or equivalent, preferred.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum five years' experience in security risk and compliance management, business continuity, or experience in disaster recovery planning.
- CISSP, CISM, ITIL foundation certification, CDRE, EDRP desired.
- Expertise in disaster recovery planning, adept at identifying and evaluating potential risks to IT systems.
- Proficient in data backup and recovery procedures, with a solid understanding of virtualization, cloud computing, and network infrastructure.
- Capable of responding swiftly and effectively to IT incidents, with strong knowledge of security management.
- Project management experience: Ability to lead and manage projects related to disaster recovery and its remediation efforts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented; ability to work in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Wiki, collaborative cloud-based programs, and third-party software applications required.

Requirements
Physical: Work is primarily sedentary; mobility in an office setting.
Manual Dexterity: Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
Audio/Visual: Regularly required to accurately perceive, distinguish and interpret information received visually and through audio, e.g., words, numbers and other data broadcasted aloud/viewed on a screen, as well as print and other media.
Environmental: Office environment – moderate noise, no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
Mental: Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, and make timely decisions in the context of a workflow. This role requires effective adaptation to workplace stressors, including customer service complaints, security responsibilities, and competing priorities. Must be able to adhere to process protocol. Must be able to apply established protocols in a timely manner.
Schedules: Work is primarily performed during the business week, Monday - Friday; occasional night or weekend may be necessary.
Travel: 5 - 10%

Compensation at Guild is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to local and federal minimum wage requirements, education, level of experience, and applicant’s geographical location.
