Title – Compliance Consultant 
Location - Oakland, CA (hybrid)

Description: 

Candidates must be local to work location/Bay Area and will be required in office 1-2 times per month at Oakland General Office.

Laptop, monitor, docking station, mouse, and keyboard will be issued and must be picked up at the Oakland General Office. With manager prior approval expense for internet of a pre-determined amount can be expensed monthly.

  • Supports communication of guidance on policy issues and responds to basic to moderate internal privacy inquiries.
  • Supports fulfillment of Indvidual Rights requests to comply with CA privacy laws for consumers, employees and vendors.
  • Supports data incident response and analysis. May manage reporting and metrics related to incident response and investigation.
  • Creates and maintains basic internal and external procedures and controls for access to personal data to ensure compliance with all relevant privacy and data protection laws and contractual commitments.
  • Manages day-to-day processes of privacy team including but not limited to inquiry management, training requests, etc.
  • Manages basic to moderate privacy projects on behalf of team; implements controls and processes as needed, with guidance from other team members or manager
  • Leads incident investigation and response for moderate potential data loss events; partners with LOBs to develop and drive corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence
  • Consults with LOBs through Privacy Impact Assessment or other channels to assess privacy risk and recommend effective controls
  • Develops or supports development enterprise controls to ensure compliance with all relevant privacy and data protection laws and contractual commitments.
  • Develops and maintains enterprise privacy standards and procedures; identifies continuous improvement opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Job-related experience, 2 years (For example: experience with privacy, compliance, risk, audits, customer service, governance or utility operations.)

Demonstrates full understanding of fundamental technical/ professional concepts:

  • Able to manage multiple projects/ tasks at the same time
  • Interest in data privacy, protection and governance.
  • Strong time management, planning, and organizational skills
  • Highly collaborative, able to work cross-functionally; possessing the ability to forge relationships and partner effectively
