The Technology division delivers the Group’s information technology and banking operations functions to ensure the highest levels of customer service through world-class process excellence and technology innovation. Cyber Security protects the bank and our customers from theft, losses and risk events, through effective and proactive management of cyber security, privacy and operational risk.

Your new team:

The Cyber Defence Operations (CDO) area and ROPSa (Red Team, OSINT, Purple Team, Software Exploitation and OffensiveAI) department protects the bank and our customers from theft, losses and risk events through effective and proactive management of cyber security, privacy, and operational risk. Your customers are CBA sponsors requiring operational and cyber solutions delivered in an efficient and professional manner. 

The Cyber Defence Operations (CDO) and ROPSa teams comprise of 180 plus highly talented technical specialist, all of whom are passionate about delivering quality customer service outcomes for our partners and fostering a continuous improvement culture.

Your impact and contribution:

Reporting to the EM ROPSa, you will provide executive support across the cyber offensive teams in the Cyber Defence Operations teams. In this role, you will assist execution of strategic initiatives to improve team effectiveness and culture, help drive capability uplift activities and embed a strong and proactive cyber and integration culture.

You will act as a trusted advisor to executive management across Cyber Defence Operations and ROPSa in the areas of strategic planning, emerging risks, outcomes and maturity.

You will:

• Effectively manage relationships and communications with the Cyber Defence and ROPSa teams, Group Security, and CBA Platform leadership teams, Cyber and Technology Project Management Offices, Finance Business Partners, and Enterprise Technology Procurement and Partnerships as well as external suppliers and vendors.
• Communicate and report business activities, timelines, impacts and implications to team members, stakeholders, and staff.
• Develop and present engaging content to a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
• Deliver insights on CDO and ROPSa operations and culture; provide a clear view on the outcomes across a range of metrics including run, change, productivity, resourcing, risk, and financial.
• Drive specific initiatives that contribute to improving operational performance, maturity, and technology enabled outcomes.
• Manage the operational maturity execution plans to achieve committed objectives.
• Validate and challenge outcomes, content and reporting provided by teams across Group Security, ensuring quality of data submitted to executive forums.
• Assist with day to day operational excellence of the offensive teams, including development / improvement / assistance with communications of teams metrics, scheduling, risk actions (findings management), vendor management, finance, strategic planning, external and regulator engagements, and onboarding of  technical capability uplift solutions. 

We are interested in people who:

Have a background in cyber and management and who have previously led and consulted on security operations management across large-scale cyber and security environments. You will have proven experience in establishing and maintaining operational improvements and are able to articulate your previous expertise and produce high-quality written content.

 You will bring:

• Proficiency in operating models across operations and technology including change management.
• Experience working with executive-level stakeholders and managers.
• Proven strategic and analytical thinking skills.
• Experience or demonstrable interest in cyber security, privacy or technology fields essential.
• Attention to detail and a willingness to challenge quality outcomes.
• Good communication ability to help drive solutions and bring others on a journey to achieve desired outcomes. Experience with producing professional supporting visual materials (presentations, metrics, jira and the like) would also be beneficial.
