About the role 

Are you passionate about cybersecurity and eager to kickstart your career in a dynamic and supportive environment? Look no further! We're seeking a motivated and career-driven individual to join our SEEK Offensive Security team. As an Associate Security Engineer, you'll support our offensive security team by executing entry-level penetration testing and triage under supervision. You'll focus on developing fundamental assessment skills and honing your report writing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the project lifecycle, providing input on scoping and more.
• Perform penetration tests on web applications and networks.
• Document and report findings with guidance on proper formatting and detail.
• Begin building familiarity with scripting for automated testing.
• Accurately assess risk for most of your own findings.
• Develop and maintain your technical skills and stay aware of industry trends (through attaining and maintaining relevant certifications).
• Follow up on bug reports and tickets.
• Participate in red team activities and security research within the Offensive Security team.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience 

• Experience working in a software development or cyber security
• Familiarity with vulnerability scanning and exploitation tools (nmap, Metasploit, and Burp Suite).
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Go, or Rust).
• Basic knowledge of version control (e.g., Git).
• Strong reporting skills, including the use of project management or ticketing systems (Jira).
