OVERVIEW
Caribou Thunder is seeking a motivated Security Administration Journeyman to support Space Systems Command’s (SSC) Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power (SDACP) and Battle Management, Command, Control, and Communications (BMC3) mission areas. This role provides security administration support to classified and unclassified programs, ensuring compliance with government security policies and regulations.
REQUIREMENTS
As a key team member, the Security Administration Journeyman will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of security policies, safeguarding classified and sensitive information, personnel, facilities, and operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with security management, personnel clearance processing, facility security procedures, and classified program requirements.
1. Administer security policies and procedures in accordance with DoD, Space Force, Air Force, and Intelligence Community (IC) directives.
2. Oversee personnel security clearances, ensuring proper processing and tracking of TS/SCI and SAP access.
3. Manage classified information handling, document control, and storage in compliance with NISPOM, DoD 5200.01, and ICD 705.
4. Conduct security audits, inspections, and self-assessments to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
5. Develop and implement security training programs for personnel, ensuring compliance with required security education.
6. Process and track Visit Access Requests (VARs) for classified meetings and contractor engagements.
7. Provide security guidance and recommendations to program managers and leadership on operational security (OPSEC) and risk mitigation.
8. Support the development and maintenance of Security Classification Guides (SCG) and related documentation.
9. Coordinate with Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), Special Access Program (SAP) offices, and government security officials for program security oversight.
10. Assist in facility security management, ensuring physical security measures (e.g., access controls, alarms, CCTV) comply with standards.
11. Provide support for program security transition plans and conduct security briefings and debriefings.
12. Ensure all security incidents, violations, and inquiries are properly reported and investigated in coordination with government security authorities.
13. Work Environment:
a. Onsite work is required at designated secure facilities.
b. Some telework may be permitted, subject to government approval.
c. Travel may be required for security inspections, training, and classified meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Working knowledge of security regulations including NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117), DoD 5200.01, ICD 705, and Air Force Instructions (AFIs).
2. Experience with DISS, JADE, JPAS, and other security clearance processing systems.
3. Strong understanding of classified document control, physical security, and access management.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with military, government, and contractor personnel.
5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, classified work environment.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for security documentation and reporting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
7. Previous experience as a Facility Security Officer (FSO) or Security Specialist in a government or defense contractor setting.
8. Experience supporting SAP/SAR or SCI security programs.
9. Familiarity with Industrial Security programs and Special Access Programs (SAP).
10. Working knowledge of risk management, cybersecurity, and counterintelligence principles.
