Sentar is seeking a Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM)
Role Description:
Sentar is seeking a highly skilled Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) to support the Risk Management Operations (RMOPS) Network Security Operations Center (NSOC) systems. The ISSM will be responsible for maintaining the cybersecurity posture of assigned systems, ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) security policies, Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements, and other relevant cybersecurity regulations.
Qualifications:
- Oversee the security posture of RMOPS NSOC systems, ensuring compliance with DoD policies and frameworks, including DoDI 8500.01, NIST SP 800-53, and CNSSI 1253.
- Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and controls in accordance with RMF and DoD Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) requirements.
- Manage and oversee the Authorization to Operate (ATO) process, coordinating with Authorizing Officials (AO), Security Control Assessors (SCA), and key stakeholders.
- Maintain and track Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M), ensuring timely remediation of vulnerabilities and compliance issues.
- Monitor and assess security incidents, providing risk assessments and mitigation recommendations in coordination with NSOC security operations teams.
- Lead continuous monitoring efforts, implementing automated security tools, compliance scanning, and security event analysis.
- Conduct and oversee security control assessments (SCAs) and vulnerability management activities, including ACAS scanning, STIG compliance, and HBSS/ePO administration.
- Support incident response efforts, ensuring timely containment and reporting aligned with DoD CSSP requirements and JFHQ-DODIN directives.
- Provide cybersecurity awareness training and mentorship to system administrators, engineers, and analysts within RMOPS NSOC.
- Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, evolving technologies, and DoD cybersecurity policies to enhance RMOPS NSOC security posture.
Clearance Level: Active Secret (or higher) security clearance
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, ISSM/ISSO roles, or RMF compliance within DoD environments.
- Experience managing RMF processes, implementing security controls, and developing ATO packages.
- Strong understanding of SIEM, endpoint protection, network security, and continuous monitoring solutions.
- Proficiency with cybersecurity tools such as ACAS, HBSS, Splunk, eMASS, and Xacta.
- Knowledge of DoD security directives, including DISA STIGs, NIST 800-53, and CJCSM 6510.01B.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant cybersecurity certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, or CAP.
