Security Incident Officer

Location – Any UK Site (Hybrid)

As the UK Incident Officer this role is defined as the person accountable / responsible for the daily security incident coordination and investigation on all Thales UK Sites. This role will be responsible for initial assessment, triage, engagement and reporting of all security incidents and events across Thales UK.

Key responsibilities

  • Assessment, triage, engagement and investigation of all Security Incidents and Events

  • Trend analysis, learning from experience activities and identification of root cause analysis

  • Identification of internal and external threats including insider

  • Responsible for all incident reporting locally and to board level

  • Conduct training and awareness activities around security incidents and events

  • Support CSO and UK wide Thales planning for security events

  • Support internal and external audits (i.e ISO27001)

  • Travel and investigate security incidents where required

  • Engage and research across multiple departments internal and external for the purpose of horizon scanning, skill share and prevention against security incidents

  • Lead on security incident cultural improvement across Thales UK

  • Deliver security induction and threat briefings when required

  • Create and own briefing materials for the CSO

  • Support security working groups

  • Deputise for the UK incident Manager when required

  • Engage and meet with key personnel from external bodies

  • Responsible for reporting to WARP and wider defence/Police

  • Support site security teams with physical, personnel and information activities as and when directed

  • Work closely with the deputy Site Security Manger on local projects

  • Management of incident databases and shared areas

  • Responsible for updating and management of all internal incident processes and policies

  • Responsible for management of security incident Wiki pages

  • Responsible for supporting group and UK security incidents and travel domestically and internationally. Act as Thales UK incident point of contact for all SOS activations

  •  Ensure all GDPR considerations are met and endorsed.

About you

  • Be able to demonstrate relevant experience working in a similar security related role/environment

  • Possess good organisational, communication, presentation and report writing skill

  • Have experience of building relationships with customers, partners, suppliers and internal stakeholders at all levels

  • Be a self-starter with a positive attitude combined with excellent interpersonal and motivational skills
