Position Overview:

The Safety and Security Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing security and safety programs across our global operations. This role will help ensure the protection of employees, facilities, and assets while maintaining compliance with industry regulations and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop and oversee emergency response plans for situations such as fire safety, medical emergencies, natural disasters, and active threat situations

· Assist in conducting emergency drills and training sessions for employees and security personnel

· Help manage and oversee local emergency response teams to handle critical incidents effectively

· Utilize mass communication protocols to alert employees during emergencies

· Conduct comprehensive security risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies

· Monitor and analyze security threats in real-time to assess potential emergency situations and respond proactively

· Ensure first aid and medical emergency procedures are in place and that key personnel are trained in CPR and basic medical response

· Review and analyze post-incident reports to identify lessons learned and implement necessary improvements in emergency response protocols

· Collaborate with internal departments and external agencies to maintain a safe and secure work environment

· Monitor and review security activities to identify gaps and recommend improvements

· Respond to and assist in all emergencies, including but not limited to fires, medical emergencies, and criminal activity

· Address security concerns and complaints promptly and effectively

· Assist in conducting security investigations related to theft, fraud, insider threats, and breaches in coordination with internal legal, HR, and compliance teams

· Train employees on physical security and life safety systems and equipment

· Monitor security cameras, access control systems, and other surveillance technologies to detect potential threats

· Work with other departments to ensure compliance with security protocols

· Foster relationships with local law enforcement, fire departments, and other relevant agencies

· Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in security management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

· Minimum 5 years of security, law enforcement, risk management or related experience

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

· Expertise in physical security systems, access control, surveillance, and emergency response

· Experience with threat intelligence, risk assessments, and crisis management

· Ability to collaborate across multiple departments including IT, HR, Legal, Compliance, and Facilities to align security initiatives with business objectives

· Experience in developing and executing emergency response plans, including managing incidents, coordinating with emergency services, and after action reviews

· Experience in intelligence gathering and threat monitoring, including the ability to analyze security trends and predict potential risks

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex security issues to both technical and non-technical audiences

· Professional demeanor and appearance, treating others with respect and consideration

· Ability to work independently, while also being able to contribute to a collaborative environment and provide and take direction

· High level of discretion and confidentiality

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Physical Requirements:

Work is completed in both an indoor, office environment and outside in all types of weather. Must be able to stand, walk, and remain on foot for extended periods. Must be able to climb stairs and lift equipment up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in varying conditions, including extended shifts when needed. Capacity to work in all weather conditions when patrolling outdoor areas.
