Job context

Within Thales International Organization, the Insurance Risk Manager coordinates in ~55 countries the prevention and transfer of insurable risks.

• For this, he/she follows the guidelines of Thales Group Insurance Directorate, and liaises with Thales local Finance, Legal and Operation managers, as well as with insurance brokers.

• The risks include damages which Thales may suffer (eg: fire or natural disaster) or cause (eg.: accident due to a hidden defect in a solution sold).

The job is based in Meudon. It requires ~6 one-week travels per year, at first notably to the Middle East and Africa.

Job missions

• Assess which risks must be insured, because major to Thales, or compulsory by laws, or compulsory by Thales contractual obligations.

• Help assess the values to insure, i.e. property replacement value and turnover in specific businesses like Aviation or Naval.

• Promote the prevention of the risks :

  • on Thales property and business continuity (ex. via implementation of recommendations from loss prevention engineers);

  • of Thales liability deriving from contracts (ex. via training to, then support of: purchase managers, partnership managers and sales managers).

• Deploy processes for insurance subscription within Thales subsidiaries . This includes the subscription of local policies, within the Group worldwide program whenever possible, to be signed by the authorized Thales local manager. And for this:

  • Interface with local Thales insurance contacts. These are in each country a part time managers, directly hands on local processes like Finance and Legal.

  • Interface with the insurance brokers in different countries, i.e. local offices of the brokers appointed by Thales Group in France, plus if relevant pure local brokers.

• Support colleagues for instance when they need information (like insurance quote for a sales bid) or documents (eg. insurance certificates).

• Manage main claims until insurance indemnity, in coordination with local colleagues and Thales Group Insurance Directorate, and with loss adjusters, brokers and insurers.

Your profile

• Experienced in the management of the whole range of casualty insurances, including in particular CAR/EAR and Transport/Cargo.

• Business partner, able to support growing business, show flexibility in a competitive and dynamic market and provide first class servicing to colleagues and customers.

• Skilled to influence and motivate colleagues in an international environment. Good instructor.

• Concise and accurate.

• Fluent in French and English.
